HA rental van or car

Can anyone tell me where I can rent a mini van that has the thing on the back we can put my son's scooter on? Right now we have a regular van booked but its going to be a pain for my husband to have to break it down everytime we get into the van. Ive seen attachments on the back of vans and cars.. we are booked with alamo but I dont see anything on the site

I don't know of any rental company that would have a lift on the back. The lift on my car cost almost $2,000 and is wired into the car's electrical system.

There is at least one company listed in Post #2 of the disABILITIES FAQs that rents accessible vans, but the cost is over $100 per day (plus taxes and fees).

But it is generally not that difficult to break down an ECV or to put it back together. I did it for years until I bought my current car.

Also if you don't need the scooter from the car to your room or around the resort, take a rolling luggage carrier with you for carrying the batteries into the room for charging at night. This saves having to assemble and reassemble each night and morning if you don't have to.

But most standard ECVs have to have the batteries installed in the ECV to charge them. Some of the smaller ECVs have a removable battery pack which the charging cord plugs directly into.

It is a smaller ECV.. it does fold but he does need it go get to the parking lot to hotel room and around the resort.. (either POR or AOA then DVC... possibly BLT or BWV) and the battery needs to be taken out to be charged.. Im also worried about the FLorida downpours and if it gets wet.

It would be extremely unlikely that you would find a rental agency that even has a hitch mounted that you could tow or stow anything on the rear.
