Does anyone know if there are HA GVs at OKW? A friend is planning a trip next year and needs to know in advance. His concern is that there is a shower with a seat etc. He has HH points and will have to wait for the 7 month window so imagine that adds another problem. I suggested he might try to find someone who has OKW points and wants the 11 month window at HH who would trade but don't know if that would work either. I know the new buildings have elevators but are there other ones that have a GV on the first two floors?
As to the problem of no counter space in the bathroom of a studio or 1BR is there a place to hang one of those things you can pack your toiletries in with all the pockets that is meant to hang from something that would be close to the sink? How about using a chair or the ironing board as a table? We had one of the HA studios at BWV on our first trip to a DVC resort but I can't remember how much room was in the bathroom, just that it was tricky keeping the water in the shower area.

There is an accessible GV in building 48 with the entrance at ground level (this is the only one). I do not know the interior configuration, but assume it is accessible. Building 63 has two GV's with elevator access but, again, I don't know how the villa interior is configured.

The 11 month priority would be useful for most dates, but many have reported success within 7 months.

Good luck.

We stayed in a HA GV for one night several years ago. It was in building 62 or 63, one of the buildings with an elevator.

Because we were there for such a short period of time, and I wasn't in the main floor bedroom, I don't know about the counter space, etc.

I know there are at least 3 because we have stayed in 3 different ones. There are 2 in the elevator section. They are just as you come off the elevetor- side by side. They have a sink in the bathroom of the master bedroom which is the handicapped bathroom. You can put stuff there. Also, there is a hanger on the door there. We always have water on the floor but just lay a towel down and wash it when finished. There is a pull down seat in the shower. Hope your friend has a great trip. GV's are great! Whichever way your friend goes, make sure he has them call and get a handicapped GV. You can ask for one but to make sure you get one you have to have the reservation person call OKW and have one saved for you for your dates.

We just got a reservation for one in Sept., only 5.5 months out, and they were able to confirm HA. I was told it would be a roll-in shower with a seat in the master bath. The upstairs section of the villa, however, is NOT accessible - only stairs to it.

I've also had great luck getting answers to these kind of questions on the disABILITIES board here.

Hope he has a great trip!

I'm keeping all the room reports from OKW, and I've only got a report on 1-#6322. Sounds like whoever had it was really pleased and said it had a lovely view. Got any more reports? Please PM me. Thanks a lot!

Thanks for all the answers. I will pass them on and hope that he can get one of these GV's at 7 months. Hope everyone has a magical day.
