HA DVC requests?

Dh and I are treating my parents to a short 3 night Food & Wine trip in October, as a "do over" for when they had to miss the extended family trip last summer due to Mom's chemo. Unfortunately Mom now has go through another round of chemo :sad1: Her oncologist is working around the planned vacation dates so we're still on!

We have two separate studios booked at Jambo (due to number of points left). Are there studios with grab bars? She won't need a fully accessible studio bathroom but will take it if that is the only option. Would I call MS for the request? Or do I go through the special services reservation line that I found over on the disabilities board?

Thanks :) Now off to look for ECV rentals!

I would call MS ASAP to see if one of the rooms with the grab bars can be guaranteed.

Best wishes, I hope you have a great trip! I'm glad you were able to arrange to go with your DPs!

You will need to make the request through Special Services. Be sure to post this on our DISabilities Board as there are many DVC Members who are regulars on that board and will be able to answer your questions. Good luck! :)

I agree call now to see if a room is available with your needs in mind. When you call MS they will place you on hold while they contact Special Service's regarding your request. Susan

Just to be clear, this type of unit is booked directly and is not a request. You can't simply book then ask later, one of those units has to be available for it to be booked. They actually block a specific room in this situation. Unless you made the reservation for a HA room, you don't currently have one and can only get one if available when you cancel and rebook the unit or at check in.
