We've booked a dedicated 2 BR at VGF. It says: wheelchair accessible with tub. I'm not clear on exactly what will be provided in the master bath. I was told there would be grab bars at the toilet & tub & a hand held sprayer in both baths. Does that mean the tub in the master bath will be enclosed with a shower over it? The master bath usually just has the whirlpool tub. I can't safely get in & out of a shower or tub. At home I have a transfer bench that I can sit on & swing my legs over the tub to shower. We had planned to rent one of those but I'm not sure there'll even be a shower over the tub. The person I spoke to when booking the room didn't seem to know. I'd appreciate it if anyone can tell me what to expect in the master bath of a HA room that does not have a roll-in shower. Thanks!

So no one here has ever stayed in a 1 or 2 BR villa at any DVC resort? I assume the HA master baths would be the same in all of them. I'm really stressing out over what I'll be dealing with. Our last trip we didn't book a HA room & that was a mistake. Almost made me not want to travel again. I just need to know that the master bath will work for me. I'd really appreciate any help. I'm starting to think I'm not going to know until we get there.

Maybe try asking on the DVC forum as well? I hope you find your answer.

Tried that too. There doesn't seem to be many people on the DVC forum with knowledge of HA rooms except those who are angry they got stuck in one. Thanks for the suggestion though:)

I was given the info I needed by some very helpful people on the DVC forum. It looks like the room we booked will be perfect.:)

I have photos of the 1BR HA room at VGC. I will try and post them tomorrow. The 1BR has 2 full baths. The one in the BR was the HA one. It was very large, and a roll in. Even the room thermostat is low, I had to squat to adjust it. We did not request an HA room.

It was on the first floor, which was not ok with us. Of course, the view as bad, and I had requested upper floor. My son is autistic, and the first floor room was doors that just walk outside, no railing around the little porch. He can reach and open child proof locks. I was told every room left was 1st floor when I checked in at 3:30 pm. (And I was told next time, not to just request upper floor, but to ask them to note that it is because I have a handicapped adult who might walk outside alone. We do not need an HA room at all, just an anything but 1st floor room-- we were moved the next day no charge)

SORRY, misread VGF as VGC. Duh. Probably is the same set up, except VGF lacks the 2nd full bathroom in the 1BR.
