I wonder if the H1N1 will stop many from going to DW? The wait lines in the parks would be excellent places to spread the germs. Hopefully this passes quickly. If they are calling this the second wave will there be a third? It seems its only been six months since it first made news. Hopefully the vaccine keeps it in check.

We cancelled our trip. We were supposed to leave Sunday. I have a high risk child and we just got our vaccines, so we wont have immunity until mid nov. We will reschedule for next year

We went down for a week, got back last Friday. Wish more people would have acted like you so the crowds would be smaller. 30,000 people a year die from flu no matter where you live or where you go. At least we would have died someplace warm.

Anyone could just as easily contract the virus standing in line at the grocery store, at the mall, or any other place where large numbers of people can be.
I don't understand why Disney would be any different? Unless people plan on hibernating in their homes with no outside contact, there is always a risk.

I agree with 4seasons about line-ups anywhere, but some people do get paramoid about these things. Any public place will pose the same risks, not just H1N1, but all communicable diseases. Unless I were ill I would still plan my vacation.

According to my magic 8 ball, the worst week for catching the H1N1 flu at WDW will be Jan 15th to 23rd.

We'll be there and will report back to you on the 2nd and 3rd waves of the flu and the possibility of a flu tsunami ravaging the parks that week. We can't emphasize enough how important it is (to us) that everyone else stay home that week.

Other weeks, both before and after, will be less dangerous for you and of little concern to us.
