So, my poor DS19 calls me from his dorm...he's sick. He goes to the clinic, they tell him it's swine flu. This makes sense...he's had the seasonal flu vaccine, so it's very likely swine flu. He comes home (he's only 50 minutes away). Mommy takes care of him, as mommies should.
I look it up to see what I'm up against, and it says incubation is 2 to 7 days, and duration of the worst part is 3-4 days, with lingering cough afterwards. Contagious up to 7 days from onset.
So, this is what I'm up against. I'm scheduled to leave for DAP in 10 days. Best case scenario...I get sick today (okay, best case is that I never get sick, but that's just too optimistic), and I'm over it and not contagious when I go to FL...maybe a lingering cough, maybe not as much drinking, but good to go. Worst case (besides the very worst) is I don't get it for another 7 days, and I don't get to go to DAP.
So, I guess I go hug my kid to pieces, and hope for the best? Or should I lock him in a room, and feed him chicken soup through a slot in the door? Choices, choices....
