H&V buffet at MGM

I have been looking over menus, and wondered how you like the buffet at H&V at MGM? I am thinking about it, heard it was good, but was hoping there would be chicken as a choice, Not strips, on the menu. Can anyone tell me what the Turkey Roast was like? How were the meats, food in general?

My DH is a major carnivore and he enjoyed H&V. We thought all the food was very flavorful, esp for a buffet and he said it was a thumbs up. We liked it better than the GF buffet, but, as I have learned, your mileage may vary!

We ate at H&V in May of 2002 and just last December, 2004. There are 6 of us, and we have 2 adult sons who eat a LOT and really enjoyed all of the offerings. Both times we ate there, chicken was on the buffet for that day. Our 2002 trip had a dish called "Citrus Chicken" which my son loved so much, he requested the recipe (they obliged!). In December, I believe that there was a type of teriyaki-style chicken (on the bone).

My take is that this is just a sample menu, as I know that our buffets were different for each of the trip we were there.

Loved those little chocolate tarts, too!

We're vegetarians, so can't comment on the meat, but the two times we've been there, there have always been things on the buffet beyond what was listed or what we expected. Garlic was pretty dominant the last time, which was DELICIOUS while we ate it, although less enjoyable the next day. Worth it, though, IMO.

I LOVE Hollywood and Vine-- it's one of my favorite buffets on property. They tend to offer more upscale and gourmet selections than what you would find on other buffets on property. It's all very fresh and flavorful, too! And the selection is huge!

Chocolate tarts.......just think of a 2-bite chocolate candy tart shell filled with a yummy chocolate mousse filling.......definitely a hit with our family!

We always chose this with a Fantasmic package and have always really enjoyed it. There is tons of choices, good kid's choices and yummy desserts which does include a make-your-own sandae with every imaginable topping. The food is tasty and good. The service is always great. I would say give it a shot just don't expect very fancy food or anything like that.

We had Thanksgiving dinner at H&V a few years ago and really enjoyed it.
