Gymbucks Dilemma

hey, all Gymbucks experts out there. I have a bunch of Gymbucks I earned and went on-line to see the new lines of clothes. But I really don't like/need the new lines. This has never happened to me before. I was actually really excited about spending some $$ this time around.

I can find some clothes in the Sales that I like but I'm not up to my Gymbucks total and frankly, I really don't need anything from the sales except a few tops, leggings and PJs.

1) Will Gymboree come out with any more new lines before Oct 10th?

2) Does Gymboree ever let you extend the dates to purchase using Gymbucks?

3) Can we use Gymbucks at the Outlets yet?

4) Are there any other options for me to use my Gymbucks (i.e., sister store)

Finally,

5) If I decide not to use them, can someone else use them or are they in my name only? I don't want to throw them out if I can help someone else.

I don't think there are more lines coming. Usually they will do more CHristmas PJs but no date announced as of yet.

I don't think so. Someone else might know.

No - Crazy 8 has their own cash thingy going.

Someone else can use them. They need to be stapled to your receipt though. I promise to mail is back! Hahahaha!!

Can you buy ahead for next year? Maybe PJs as a gift for someone? I would hate to waste them, too!

You can't use GB at the outlets. Look up gymbucks on Ebay...

I have a few things I want to buy with my gymbucks, but I agree on the new collections. We have only $100 in gymbucks right now which is a lot less than usual and I was going to buy some on ebay. You can try and sell yours on ebay, I purchased $200 last summer for $60, it is not a lot but it is $60 more then you had befoe if you don't need them.

I know. This is the first time I've been REALLY disappointed in Gymboree. That's why I was hoping that they would have another collection before the Gymbucks end.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I think I'm going to go back and look at just the basics -- solid color t-shirts, socks and leggings and purchase different sizes for the next years. Then add some cute barrettes or other accessories since I normally don't purchase them. Plus a few PJs.

I hadn't even thought of ebay ... thanks. That's another option if I can't find the sizes I need in the basics.

To answer your questions, no... Gymboree won't be coming out with a new line before Oct. 10 . Once the Gymbucks expire they are done.. no extensions. You are not allowed to redeem Gymbucks at the outlets, however, you can earn Gymbucks at the outlets to redeem at the stores. Sorry, but you can only use Gymbucks at Gymboree.... bummer how you can't redeem them at Crazy 8 or Janie and Jack . I have had it before that I had three Gymbucks that I just tossed because of the lines and none of my friends liked the clothing lines either. If you don't use them hopefully you have a friend or family that do like the styles and no they are not in your name... anyone can use them! Hopefully I answered your questions.... sorry that most of them had to have the "no" answer! Good luck though! Maybe you can find some jeans, socks, and underwear just to use them up if no one wants them?

If you buy the item and decide you don't like them and return them you will lose your gymbucks . I had that happen... I bought something just to use it and DD didn't like what I bought.

If you are not going to use them, then I would sell them. I have seen them go for decent amounts on ebay as well as Craigslists. Shoot, earn that money and then put that to Christmas shopping at other stores.

I have $450 worth of Gymbucks and I am stocking up on items in larger sizes for next summer for my daughter since their new lines are not to my liking.

I have been really disappointed in most of Gymboree's fall and winter lines this year! DD has always had trouble fitting in other brands of clothes, so we usually have mostly Gymboree. You can give your codes to someone else to use to order online (they don't need your receipt for that). The time my cousin didn't want my extras, I gave them to a Diser on the boards. (I gave them to someone who had asked if anyone had extras, but if you post and offer to pm the codes to the first poster requesting them, I think you will have someone who wants to use them in about 2 seconds.) I'm hoping to find a few things to use mine on too, but there are not a lot of good choices right now!

Thanks everyone for the responses. I'm actually kind of glad to hear that I'm not the only one who doesn't like the new fall and winter styles.

I did go to the Gymboree store tonight to check out the pieces in person. Still don't like them much.

But I think I'll be able to find enough basics to get to my $100 gymbucks ... and if not, I'll offer them up on DIS.

What I did before when I did not like the new lines is:

1. Buy something that is not on sale with my gymbuck.

2. Return it the next day without a receipt.

3. I was given store credit for full retail price.

4. Then later when the next line comes out, I purchase using my store credit.

Whether that is "honest" or not, well I guess someone will have an opinion. I feel as though I paid for the merchandise to receive the gymbuck and I will use it for clothing that I like.

Personally, I am not crazy about the new lines either. So I will probably do the same thing.

Your answers were already given...but another thought, you could always stock up on the older lines that your store might still have in stock. I saw some Cowgirls At Heart at my local store tonight for pretty cheap. I'm talking $6.99 for tops which isn't bad at all. They might have some summer stuff still available that you could put aside for next season.

That's what I usually end up doing, buying at the end of the season for the following year. Can't beat the prices. Too bad this time around I don't have any gymbucks to spend. I'm sure my husband is happy about that... (but I'm actually liking the owls they have right now...oh well).

You can sell them. Normally about $6/buck. Are you on any gymbo boards? There are always people looking to buy. I like Gymboplace.

OP here. Well, I shopped on-line and bought clothes from the Cowgirls at Heart collection ... ended up only $0.24 over my Gymbucks!! I'm pretty happy about that and I think the girls will like the clothes (or hoping so).

I love that line and so does my DD7. The colors, if you haven't seen them in person, are sooo much better than they look on the internet.

Good! I actually got them for my girls for next fall...had to guess about sizes but I can't wait to see them.
