I was just looking at a website for a local outlet mall and a Gymboree Outlet store just opened! I was wondering if anyone has shopped at a Gymboree Outlet and what should I expect? Off- season? Last year's merchandise? Different lines? Any info will be appreciated and will help determine when I get shopping? Thanks!

Hey! I went to the GOutlet in Charleston a few months back! I could have spent a fortune in there!

They had some of last season's stuff, but they had new stuff too, but it was at least 20% off. i don't know how they justify what goes to their outlet, but all the stuff was in great condition and they had whole outfits, not just shirts, shorts, etc.:cool1:

I have never been to a Gymboree Outlet but it is my understanding that the prices do not vary much from the actual store. Usually it contains lines that did not make it to the stores or color variations from the lines that are in the stores.

They remake the lines in different colors. I like our Gymboree outlet - I wouldn't say it is cheap, cheap, cheap - but definately cheaper than buying the new lines not on sale. I can get similar prices on the regular lines when they go on clearance - but I don't buy everything when it first comes out - I just buy what I think is cute when it is one sale.

I love the leggings for my little peanut - nothing else fits her well but those things!

thats cool to hear, because from what I was told it was like I posted above.

I've never seen last season's stuff in ours, but they always have full outfits (socks, hair pretties, and everything) - just different color combos than the regular line.

I am a manager at a gymboree so I can tell you about our outlet stores. If a "line" does good in the stores they will copy alot of the pieces(sometimes in other colors)with cheaper materials so they can sell them cheaper(more like childrens place quality)when an outlet first opens they have good deals but no steals,so you could get stuff for the spring and summer for $10.00 but there will not be any $2.00 steals, know what I mean.I have gone to our outlet store brfore and have got some good deals for my own boys that I wouldnt have gottin in my own store.you should at least go take a look to see what they have.have fun!

I was less then impressed with the one near us. We went after christmas, not much of a deal on anything. I had actually been in at a different time and found better deals. But overall, not a gigantic bargain.

Thanks everyone! I was wondering if they have the same perks as the regular store- earning and spending Gymbucks, additional percentage off with coupons? The 20% coupon I have now is not good there, but I wondered if they have their own incentives.

you cant use or earn gymbucks at the outlet and I dont think any of the other offers (like 20%) are good there.Sorry.

I do not buy at Gymboree Outlet.

#1 It is not that much less expensive from regular Gymboree, and no GYMBUCKS

#2 The outlet has lines that are REMADE for the outlet, but not always exact replicas. They are also made lesser quality for that price.

#3 The outlet stores have different tags than regular Gymboree and if you sell your old clothes on ebay you will not get as much and you must state it was bought in an outlet.

I agree with PP, the quality is definitely not as good as regular Gymboree. Also, if you are thinking of resale, you must specify it comes from outlet or you could get burned -- think bad feedback and refund. I don't buy from the one closest to us because the colors don't match up and the stuff doesn't hold up as well. Hope this helps!

Avoid the outlets(everyone's already said why) and shop the rounds at the regular retail stores. I get $2 bargains at the regular stores all the time. Just gotta keep your eyes open and visit regularly.

The store is NOT a dump store!

What they do is take the best selling lines of last year and redo them for this year.

Check out www.gymbohaven.com and she has a link to what lines are in the stores and outlets right now.

Everytime I go to the outlet I see stuff that is cute but honestly the prices are not that great. I'd prefer to wait til the regular gymboree goes on sale where I can get stuff for $2-4 an item. Never found anything near those prices at the outlet...maybe just timing of when I went to the outlet?

Thanks everybody, I am going to check it out next week sometime. I do resell my children's clothes, but I use ebay and a seasonal consignment sale and that may be better for the outlet clothing. I never get great $2-4 deals at the store, but ours is pretty small and tends to get picked over really quickly. I'll report my findings after I shop- the link had some really cute things, so I'm sure we'll find something!

They definately use different materials. I think the quality just is not there. I buy Gymboree for the quality and wearability. You can get a lot of wears. The oulet clothing is not as nice. I would suggest buying gymboree clearance at the regular stores first. You will get a better bang for your buck.

I went to the one at Concord Mills in NC last week. I bought three outfits for my daughter and two out fits for my son. I also bought my son two hoodie jackets. With tax I only spent 76.00. Not bad considereing I got 14 pieces.

I'm the OP and I went to the outlet over the weekend. I found some items to be priced similarly to the stores after the first markdown and the clearance to be great deals. The fabric is different, but still seems to be decent quality. The only problem was there was nothing in my DD's size, but there seemed to be a lot in the toddler sizes. So, all in all, not a great trip for us, but it is worth looking when we are out shopping.
