I had to leave work today to get home and take Micky (boyfriend) to the ER. He has a kidney stone that is 8 mm which is really big, and now his kidneys are swelling and not functioning right. They admitted him to the hospital to undergo some type of procedure tomorrow.

I know this isn't a huge deal compared to other things, but i'm nervous, I never saw him like this before.

And I've also haven't spent a night away from him in 6 years, so this will be a little weird too.

Any good thoughts you have will be appreciated.
thanks,
andrea

(((hugs))) amnd prayers for you both I had one last year and it was a bad pain!

I hope hes feeling better really soon

Good luck.....do you know what kind of procedure he'll have?
We had a friedn that had the laser-pulverizing done last summer. Worked very well and he was up and at our July 4th bash two days later.

was that a Lithotripsy meriwether? It sounds like it. thats what I had and truly you are up and moving aorund a couple days later and MUCH better!

Good thoughts and prayers babar. Hope everything goes well and he is feeling better soon.

Lots of good thoughts and {{HUGS}}} on the way.

I hope your boyfriend starts feeling better soon.

My Dad had lithotripsy(shockwaves to pulverize the stone) done last week. He had a large stone that was not passable and was in alot of pain. The procedure wasnt painful at all and he is feeling much better. So, if your boyfriend is having that procedure, its not painful.

Lots of good thoughts and {{{{{Hugs}}}}} to you and Micky.I hope all goes well,keep us informed.

Saying a prayer for your boyfriend. I heard kidney stones are very painful. I hope everything goes well tomorrow. And I hope you have a good night.

*HUGS* and good thoughts for you and Nicky.

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

Is the procedure the one where they will zap it so that it breaks up the stones???? Hopefully if it's that big!!!!

Good luck and PD on the way.

Steve

hugs...it really is hard to see the ones you love in pain, and discomfort. I hope that things turn out well for him. I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers....hugs

Preayers and pixie dust to your boyfriend babar.

Oh, I wish him the best. I had a very large stone that had to be removed by cystoscope. You are under general anesthesia and they have to place a stint for a few days afterward - awful. They will probably put him on heavy antibiotics for infection.

I was told lithotripsy was not an option because of the size of stone - I could end up with several more still good size stones. 8 mm sounds huge.

DH also had stones and it was very painful for him - his was teeny, tiny and caused extreme pain.

I am sending him my best wishes that he will be up and feeling much better soon. I'll be thinking about him. :D

Prayers for both of you. He will be fine, but I understand that this is making both of you nervous. {{{Hugs}}}

Loved ones in pain is always hard. Lots of prayers and good thoughts for the both of you. They'll have him "right as rain" in no time.

I hope Micky is feeling better soon and that his procedure goes well. You are both in my thoughts {{hugs}}
