When the proces for 2007 came out a few days ago I went to the site got a quote for a holiday for Feb 2007, £956 for two adults fly drive. Went to book it today and its gone :(

Now the price is showing as 1300 for exaclty the same thing. I was suggested to me there was a mistake on the web site, I think they knew there was from the answer, but not am gutted :(

According to the price chart it is 01 Jan '07-23 Mar £479, so perhaps something went worng on the calculations side of things or there is a mistake. But I am sure with contract law etc if the price is too low to be believable they can cancel the booking as in effect the contract is not complete until a confirmation invoice is sent/deposit or payment taken, or so I am lead to believe.
What dates were you looking for?

That is disappointing when that happens :(

Figers crossed you will find a better price!

YOu are right, but the price wasn't that good, it was the same as it is or near enough the rate for 2006, 329 for the flights rather than 479 :( At that rate it is highly likely they would have honoured it.

Oh well, back to looking out again.

Hmmm interesting that for the period Jan 1st to March 25th 2006 there are three price bands but for the same period in 2007 it is just one -

2006 price bands -

01 Jan-08 Feb '06 £329
09 Feb-19 Feb £449
20 Feb-26 Mar £399

Maybe once bookings start to come in they will make more price bands, I have seen this a few times with early bookings, wait a while and then certain periods get a better rate. I would certainly expect for the schools Feb half term period for prices to go up or prices around it go down.

Hi

I would try ringing one of the specialist on teletext in late Jan. They know what the prices are before the seats go on sale with Virgin. He said, he had the same discounts that the big operators get. They also know which flights carry the lowest price seats. Apparantly there are 7 price brackets. the price moves up a bracket as the seats sell.

I used this tact this year. I rang mid November for a flight out next October (11th). Even though the 220 days window hadn't opened yet for the return flight. He gave me a price for a fly drive of £325 + taxes 125 for the flight and a car price with all the insurances of £405 for 3 weeks. So for 2 adults and a child with a car, its worked out at 1649. DS price wass 179 + tax of 125. Our out bound flights are on hold until the return flight goes on sale.

I can't remember the name of the company, but if you PM me, I'll give you the phone number. It was something like sky direct.
