Some of the closures are standard out of season - Casey jr and Storybook boats. The river boat also gets changed over.
Tram tours could be because of the Ratouille construction - if they need acess through there etc
If they are doing POTC with the add ons they could be closed all of March and longer as according to DCP when it was done at WDW in 2006 the attraction was closed for 5 weeks open for 2.5 weks and then closed again for 10 weeks
We roll with it as out of season is the best time to do them and you can't please everyone even though it does annoy me a bit that during 2 months my AP isn't really getting it's moneys worth ride wise but it won't stop my weekly visits

Being from the states, I remember going past PoTC for several months and it being closed at WDW while they added Capt. Jack. It does look great and I like the ride with Jack in the scenes. I just wish they could do it fast in DLP.
I don't want to get anyones' hopes up (or misinform anyone) but when I went in March 2012 there were quite a few things on the "closures" list but we arrived to find they were actually open. Not sure how common this is as I've never checked before. It made my week
