GUm

Have you ever been to a Six Flags? That should explain it!!

Disney doesn't want people depositing their gum everywhere~on the ground, on/underneath tables, chairs, benches, rides... It's a policy I'm happy with! ;)

I'm bringing my own gum since I've also heard that Disney does not sell it. I've had a talk with my girls about where gum goes....and not put under a seat, table, on the ground or even been "swallowed". Yes they have a thing that gum tastes so good...let's just eat it! I've never had a problem with them not disposing it properly. The worst that has happened was them swallowing it or them trying to learn to blow bubbles and it getting caught in their long long long hair. (Not a good thing) pirate:
I like it that disney does not sell it...cause there are alot of people out there that doesn't understand what a garbage is for.

ugh..I forget (or ran out of) my gum one day at AK...so I bought Mickey Mints instead (altoids in the shape of Mickey and friends. heheh) I bring, at least, 6-8 packs of gum with me to WDW (since I quit smoking, I chew alot)

I haven't seen gum at MCO in a very long time...actually, was at a gift shop in MCO last september buying a book and the guy in front of me was arguing with the woman at the register about their lack of gum.

Yep, no gum at MCO anymore. We didn't realize they didn't sell it and forgot to buy some, so my ears were really hurting on the way home!

However, I COMPLETELY understand why they don't sell it - along with Disney - and have no issues with it. Gum is gross, it gets stuck on stuff, people drop it on the ground or on rides, and it's hard to remove.

I'm addicted to IceBreaker coolmint gum, I always have to remember to pack a few packs

an alternate for gum/chewing for the flights - tootsie rolls!! (I realize that its easier to get sugar free gum than candy)

Tootsie Rolls are reccommended by our Speech Therapist as well - giving the tongue a needed workout of all things!!

Because people are disgusting pigs. Personally I think Singapore has the right idea re public gum chewing.

What is their penalty? Public Caning? (One can wish.)

I agree with Ducklite! My dad and I were at the MK 2 weeks ago and we were sitting on the stone border by the exit of the River Boat. Well, when we got up he had a HUGE wad of gum stuck to his pants. And it's not easy stuff to get out! And what a sight it was seeing me trying to get gum off of his derriere with baby wipes.

Not too long ago there was a thread about gum all over the walls at Splash Mountain. Of course, some people were complaining that Disney did a lousy job of cleaning, but someone else said that every morning the walls are clean, and by closing, they are gum-filled. No wonder there isn't any sold.

I have not seen a gum problem at WDW, but in NJ at Six Flags Great Adventure, I remember an entire wooden wall being filled with wads of chewd gum at the entrance to the log flume. It was disgusting! I haven't been there in 10 years, so hopefully dried, germy gum is no longer a problem.

I can understand no gum at WDW but I don't understand none at MCO. Alot of people chew gum when flying. I bought some at PIT the other day.

Two years ago my then 4 year old neice Sara was with me at WDW. We saw Tough To Be a Bug and when the show was done she tried to stand up from her seat. The person before her apparently dropped their gum onto her seat and she didnt' see and sat in it. She couldn't lift herself off the seat, there was such a big wad and she was so small.
The CM saw me trying to pick it off her cheap, old shorts and told me to follow her and she would help me take care of it.
I followed her thinking she would get me some ice or tissues. She took me to a store and picked out the cutest Tinkerbell outfit, shorts and top and asked if Sara liked it. Of course Sara said yes, and the CM said then it's for you because we ruined your pretty red shorts. I tried to tell her no, Sara's shorts were old, but she insisted.
I can see why they would not like gum at the parks, it could cost them a pretty penny in replacement clothing. Peggie
