Phillip ends up taking the blame for the Ponzi scheme to protect Lizzie and James.

Bill is charged with securities fraud - thanks to James' scheme.

Reva/Jeffrey/Josh: Mallet is working hard to make the case in Edmund's murder. According to Ellen Wheeler she is not looking to let the case go to trial. But did Reva really kill the Dark Prince?

Olivia/Natalia/Frank: Rafe gets out of the halfway house and Natalia has a decision to make. Olivia decides to give Natalia some space to make their relationship public.

Shayne/Dinah: Now that Shayne knows the truth, will he tell Marina and/or Mallet?

Mallet/Marina: Will baby Henry continue to have health issues? And will Shayne's paternity have to be revealed?

Phillip/Alan/Beth: Phillip's relationship with Alan - always a work in progress - will be tested. Can their relationship survive Alan's jealousy over the attention his son is getting from the family?

Natalia is to learn Rafe is applying to the Springfield PD.

Rafe gets angry and doesn't want to talk about his application with Natalia.

Olivia reassures Natalia that Rafe will work everything out.

Frank tells Rafe that because he's a felon he can't be a cop.

Rafe is devastated by Frank's news.

Rafe decides to lie to Natalia.

Rafe tells his Mom that there's a waiting list for the force - and he'll keep looking for work.

Olivia decides to help Rafe find a job.

Natalia visits Alan and asks him not to help Rafe with money or a job.

Alan assures Natalia that he won't help Rafe.

Anybody reading? Who do you think killed Edmund? I'm really not liking the storyline at all-seems like a last minute storyline change due to the show being cancelled. I'm afraid TPTB are going to make Jeffrey the killer, causing Reva to turn to Josh (since Jeffrey is letting her take the fall). I really hope I'm wrong.

Good news:

The homecomings continue on Guiding Light. Veteran actor Peter Simon will reprise his Emmy-nominated role of Ed Bauer later this month. It's been nearly five years since the actor last appeared on GL -- and his exit had many viewers upset. Simon debuted on Guiding Light in 1981.


Peter Simon (Ed Bauer) is headed back to Springfield. It's been nearly five years since the beloved doctor made a somewhat controversial exit from Guiding Light, but the actor will return later this month as part of the show's swan song on CBS.


In 2003, Simon expressed his unhappiness over a storyline that rewrote a substantial chunk of Guiding Light history. Moreover, in the same story, Ed Bauer was required to hit his daughter, Michelle, something that Simon said would never have happened. The actor was taken off contract and offered the chance to remain on a recurring basis. Simon turned down the offer.


It wasn't the first such controversial storyline for the actor. In 1993, Ed's wife, Maureen, was killed in a car crash after she learned that her husband was having an affair. Many fans have said that Maureen's death signaled the death of Guiding Light -- and many fans vowed never again to watch the show.


Simon joined Guiding Light in 1981. He took a two-year break from the show in 1984, but then began a ten-year run with the show when he returned in 1986. In 1994, Simon received an Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Lead Actor category.


Ed Bauer returns home to Springfield on June 23.

They could have gotten rid of Edmond in a more dramatic way. If you are going to axe a character then at least make it good. It was so anti-climatic

Hearing Natalia admit that she's in love with Olivia, Rafe can't accept the relationship and optsto stay with Frank.

Bill and Lizzie announce their departure from Spaulding-Lewis.

Confronted by Christina about the diamonds, Remy admits to taking the gems but decides to get rid of them and flush them down the toilet.

Jeffrey comes up with a plan, aided by Josh, to make him appear guilty of Edmund's murder, while he fleds the country to search for Edmund. Dinah joins him, intending to draw Edmund out by making him believe that Lara is still alive.
Coming: With Jeffrey gone, Josh fights the urge to be close to Reva.

SOD (6/18 issue):

Mallet is ticked when Josh and Jeffrey decide to investigate Edmund's murder themselves, while Reva is out on bail. Mallet thinks they have no business doing this since they are both suspects and too close to Reva. Jeffrey believes Reva is being framed and begs Mallet to run some fingerprints he finds on her car. Other evidence keeps pointing to Reva and the blood on the pvc pipe, does belong to Edmund. Mallet tries to get Marina to get Shayne to get Reva to confess (did you get all that? ). Mallet thinks it could be self defense, but keeps the pressure on her and it is making everyone crazy. Reva is adamant she is innocent but does say she will confess if it means protecting family. Jeffrey thinks Dinah is framing Reva and wants her to give him an alibi - which ticks Shayne off. Rob Bogue comments that Shayne being unstable makes Dinah act crazy, but she is never far from it anyhow. Reva is upset when someone vandalizes Cross Creek and "murderer" is written on the door. Dinah hides a molotov cocktail in her purse. Mallet think any one of them could have killed Edmund or could be covering for another. Rob Bogue doesn't feel Mallet favors Dinah in the investigation, and he does feel that even thought the evidence keeps pointing at Reva, that it is too easy and by the end of the week he even has doubts. And then, Josh and Jeffrey discover that Edmund (his body) is missing. "Kenneth" will give them the shocking news on June 10.

Just a note - for the 2nd week in a row Natalia/Olivia have bumped out Jeffrey/Reva for favorite couple.

GUIDING LIGHT: Dr. Ed Bauer was surprised to see Phillip, who said he thinks something is seriously wrong with him. Phillip was stunned when Ed told him he has an incurable disease and only three months to live.

Cyrus revealed to Remy that he'd die if they don't retrieve the diamonds, and they managed to get them out of the sewage tank. Remy and Cyrus then turned the tables on Natasha, who was arrested after she took Christina at gunpoint. The case appeared closed but Cyrus secretly kept several gems.

Mallet put the pieces together and was ready to tell the authorities that Dinah and Jeffrey are together in Bosnia.

As Olivia and Natalia were ready to tell Emma about their relationship, Natalia threw up and wondered what's wrong with her. Surely she isn't pregnant with Frank's baby!!!! Especially after all the drinking she did today.

Coming: Mallet gets closer to the truth about his son.

I just watched today's show, and the previews for tomorrow cracked me up. Rafe hollering "Mom, what the h*ll are you doing?" I'm loving Natalia and Olivia, but I can see Natalia's son freaking out over it!

Reva reacts when she sees Josh parked at Cross Creek!

Reva throws rocks at Josh until he leaves.

After she calms down a bit, Reva and Blake put the house back in order.

Jeffrey and Grieci pick up a body bag to start the sting on Edmund.

They'll set up the other body for Lara's fake grave.

Lara's remains are moved eleswhere.

Dinah visit Lara's grave and explains their actions.

Jeffrey and Grieci move Lara's marker to it's new home.

Jeffrey tells Dinah that their next step is to have Dinah (as Lara) get Edmund to come out of hiding.

Jeffrey texts Reva from burner phone to tell her "Leave the light on for me. I'll be home soon".

Jeffrey lets Dinah use the untraceable phone to make one call.

Dinah uses her call to contact Shayne.

Shayne tells Dinah that Reva's been distraught Jeffrey went on the run.

Dinah lies to Shayne about her media convention.

Josh tells Marina that he thinks Edmund is still alive - and framing Reva.

Josh enjoys holding baby Henry - not knowing this is his grandson.

Josh reminisces about Marah and Shayne when they were both babies.

After receiving Jeffrey's text, Reva finds an old lantern to leave on until he returns.

Jeffrey tells his team they need to start leaking the story that Lara is alive.

Lizzie fears she is losing control of her wedding plans.

Remy puts Christina's life in danger.

Natalia begins to worry about her illness.

Billy, Vanessa, Beth and Lillian work to plan Bill and Lizzie's fast approaching wedding.

Phillip gets devastating news from Dr. Bauer.

The day after they announced the closing of the show I had a dinner to go to. We got to sit at the same table as the head writer of the show. He told me then that they had just spent two full days talking about how the show will close. WHile he didn't tell me too much since it was so close to the announcement, he did say they were trying to work out a solution that the viewers would like. He did say it would not end with a big boom or like the Sopranos.

I haven't watched the show for a few years but it is sad to have a classic like this go.

Well, Phillip dying will not make this viewer happy! I want him with Beth, and for James to quit being such a pain, and for Harley to come back, ....

I'm torn on what I want for Reva. I LOVE Jeffrey, but I also love her with Josh. I'm afraid Jeffrey won't survive his last encounter with Edmund.

I want Rick and Mindy together, or at least for Rick to have someone who loves him! Same for Frank-he needs a lady who wants him! And please let Matt find somebody so he can quit harrassing everybody with his bike and green living talk!

I want Natalia and Olivia to be happy, and for Rafe to accept them.

OHHHHH, and for Jonathan to bring Sarah back and stay in town so Lizzy and Bill can help raise her.
