We purchased our DVC membership thru resale by owner. I never had a guide. Do I have one now that I am a member? I am considering an add on at Saratoga Springs, so I think I would need a guide for that.

My DW and I use Ricardo Quiorez....

He originally sold us on DVC, and we've done two add-ons through him as well...

All of our experiences with him have been great.... He is very low pressure, and seems to have genuine concern for the customer's needs...

Our guide is Carol Ann DeAngelo and she is FANTASTIC!! She answers all questions honestly and really seems to enjoy her job. She has been working for Disney for 13 years and doing DVC either since it opened or not long after so she's very knowledgeable. She is totally no pressure as we first talked to her in 1999. She called me about 2 weeks after our trip to ask if we had any questions. I told her no and hadn't heard from her since until about three weeks ago when I dug out our old DVC info and gave her a call. She called me right back and the next day I gave her our deposit!

Give her a call!

My guide is Julie Hughes, I have spoken to her on and off for about 3 years. Then when we bought resale, I called her first to see if she had vWL, never heard back, and had to make the decision the next day, I explained to her the difference in price and I just couldn't not do it, but I have to give her the credit because when I started thinking DVC, I just didn't get it, I owned fixed timeshare time and couldn't comprehend floating/points based time. She was wonderful, she explained everything, in a NON-SALES pitch way. We just did an add-on with her, over the phone, piece of cake!!!

MY guide is Doug Rapp and I have had positive experiences with him also.

My guide is Kim Moore. He is the best. I would recommend him to anyone. Very low pressure---well, NO pressure. He always keeps me posted on new promotions. I visit him each time I am down in Florida. Just bought a BWV add-on from him after being on the waitlist for a while. He is great!

1-800-827-7172 is his direct line. If you want to private message me, I will give you my name, so you can tell him I sent you.

Kim has a family a few kids, so he shares his experiences at each of the DVC resorts with me. He has never had a problem advising me based on his own experiences and opinions of the resorts. I appreciate that, because sometimes I just can't decide. He is a super guy!

He helped me with a situation that occurred on my first or second trip as a DVC member. He is just great! Responds quickly and honestly.

We also bought resale - but we have a guide and you do as well - its the guide assigned to your current contract - possibly even the individual who sold the original contract to the person you bought it from (if that guide still works there). Call MS and they will be able to tell you who your guide is - or the sales literature (we just got the BCV flyer) will have his/her name printed on it.

(If you discover you don't like your guide, I believe you can switch).

(I've never spoken to ours).

Our guide is Ron Brumbaugh, and he is terrific! No pressure at all, just a nice guy. He is almost a member of the family by now, after selling our family 4 contracts and 2 add-ons, so we are very pleased with him, as you can tell.:p

Our guide is Betty Prikryl. We bought last year and then canceled. Called again this year and bought 200 points and Betty was as nice and as helpful as she was last year. She put in the extra effort to get our questions answered and the use year we wanted (June at BCV). She always put what was right for us first and I really appreciated that.

Just call the DVCD sales number, 1800-800-9100 tell the person that answers that you are a member, he/she will ask for your home phone # and tell you who your guide is. I'm on my 3rd one now, the original and first replacement retired/letf Disney. I now have Jm McCoy, he is very nice and helpful.

Ron is my guide also. I agree, Ron is a great guy! He's a family man and fellow DVC owner. I've always felt Ron has been honest in answering any questions I've had. I haven't had to bother him often, but when I call, he gives me whatever answers I'm looking for.

I think most, if not all, of the DVC guides do a great job. For most people, whether or not they like their guide will depend on what they are looking for from their guide. Some people want a guide who will call them often with all the latest alerts, and anything less is bad in their eyes. Other's want a guide who will rarely contact them unless there is something big going on or there is a problem.

My recommendation is to find out who your current guide is, then get in contact with them to answer any questions or issues you have. If you are unhappy with your guide, ask to have them changed. But remember, these are primarily sales people. Most of your questions and issues will be handled satisfactorily through Member Services.

Our guide is Linda Scolaro. Very patient and laid back. We had decided to purchase DVC and had recieved all the paperwork when 9/11 happened. We got cold feet with having to fly and she was very understanding returned our deposit. We contacted her two months later and once again requested the paperwork and joined. She is not high pressure and is the guide for everyone in my family who are members.

Linda gets my vote also - In 1997 she was very up front and truthful about who should or should not consider DVC and helpful in determining how many points we should get. She even helped us decide OKW was our first choice after listening to what we wanted to use the membership for and what types of activities we liked. We added a second contract at BCV and handled it all on the phone and fax machine other than the official papers that had to be sent by mail. She was very good about our first visit to ask about the DVC whe we told her " we don't want to sit through any movies or do any long tours we just want some questions answered" She did exactly that and after going out and walking over to the brewery and having a snack we went back in and said "bring on the paperwork".

We worked with Julie Hughes on our original purchase last year. I was just talking to her today for an add on. She is great. We talk about our kids and life in general. She has used the exchange program, which I had a few questions about. She would never pressure you into anything! She takes as much time as you need and will take the time to answer your questions. She helped us make our first reservations. Currently I am waiting to get an Amex card so that I can get points per $ spent. I explained I wanted to put the down payment on this card, but I was still waiting for it. She said, no problem! She would start the paperwork and set a due date in tree weeks. I was too afraid that my use year would sell out in the meantime. She also told me she would make sure I could borrow all my points from next year so that we can make reservations for this year. I would recommend her to anyone, she is great!

Our guide is Randy Kruger. Top notch, very forthright and honest. Has never tried to "hard sell" and gives the best advice on different options available. You can't go wrong with him. He has been a long time guide, so he will be around when you need help in the future.

HI Randy 55 from a fellow "Illinois-ain"! Our guide is also Betty Prikryl and I think she is the greatest! She will go out of her way for you; she is also good about getting back to you when you call her.

Our guide is also Randy Kruger, and I can't say enough nice things about him. He is very low pressure, but EXTREMELY knowledgable. We never felt like we had a question that was too silly, or that he wanted us to buy before we were ready. We dealt with him for over a year before we bought, and he was polite, enthusiastic and professional the entire time.

I've got to put in a good word for Linda Streetman. Always honest and a pleasure to deal with.

I can't really say I'm crazy about ours. But then, we haven't had a whole lot of dealings with him yet either.

He hasn't been real available other than to be there when we were ready to make the decision. I do remember he talked "extremely fast" when we listened to the presentation and it was difficult to digest everything he was saying.

Then, a few weeks ago, when I wanted to make our first reservation and had some questions, he was out of town for several weeks. I had to find another guide through MS and I was transferred to several other guides who were very helpful. Since then, we've received one phone call from him "checking back" with us after his vacation but it was just a message left on our phone and we haven't really had the need to talk with him.

Is this pretty common....or am I expecting too much? I'm thinking maybe I should give him more of a chance.

Deb

Two thumbs up for our guide Judy Kaufman. She's very sweet, no "fast talking" and does not seem to mind a silly question. We talk via voice mail a lot but she always gets right back to me.
