I know this a hotly debated topic, but I just found this in a guidebook I have, The Everything Family Guide To WDW:

Pool hop: Disney doesn't come right out and say that you can pool hop, but you can. Some of the Deluxe resorts frown upon it, but if you do decide to pool hop, be smart about it and simply blend in.

If I were Disney, I'd have a field day with that author.:teacher:

Such a shame when someone can actually get a book published, but can't read a sign.

All Disney resorts have signs like the one above explicity stating that the resort pool is for the exclusive use of that resort's guests.

I was thinking about starting a thread containing all incorrect information from different Guidebooks. It's amazing how wrong some of them are.

I might get flamed for this but... I think that you should be able to pool hop WITHIN YOUR PRICE CATEGORY. So if you are staying in a value cat. you should be able to go to any value pool. If you are staying Deluxe level-you can go to any deluxe resort pool and so on. While I don't think that you should pay for Pop and hang at the GF pool-it would be cool to stay at CBR and pop over to CSR pool if you wanted. Especially if you can't decide where to stay in a certain category.

There are a lot of mistakes in a lot of guidebooks. The one for Dummies was especially full of errors.

Not a pool hopper ( I think it would be a pain to travel to another resort for a swim.) But I am a pool bar hopper ..No Flames please !:fish: Swimming was not involved. :drinking1 Just Drinking...Hope that makes the difference .:rotfl:

One of the perks of being a DVC member is supposed to be Pool Hopping, which is not supposed to available to non-members. We do pool hop as members and have only been asked once to show our membership card.

No flame, but what's the point? Other than the deluxe hotels, aren't the pools pretty much standard? I think when people talk about pool hopping its either to get to deluxe/signature pool w/out paying the deluxe rate, [how many YC/BC guests hop to the ASMu pool?] or in some [rarer?] instances I guess scoping out another deluxe resort's pool.

Frankly, the pain in the neck factor of being wet, and not at your own hotel is a complete turn-off to me....
