Guide to fireworks at WDW

I just checked for our trip the first part of April and Symphony in the Stars is on WDW schedule for 9:15 each night

Yes, they quietly extended them a week or so ago. I saw a post in my twitter feed but no where else

I just went and updated it to be showing through April 30th.

If they continue to expand, I expect it to go through the end of May. June is when Frozen Summer Fun usually starts, so if it happens again this summer then they would probably transition over to the Frozen fireworks from June to September

With the fireworks scheduled at 9:15 and Fantasmic scheduled at 8:30 now for April, does that allow enough time to see both? Seems like a tight timeline to get out of the Fantasmic theater and get a spot to see the fireworks with the herd of people that would be leaving.

It's very tight. If you take the side exit that dumps you at the front entrance you can stop, turn and watch but you'll be there with all the rest too. Work your way back to the center area best you can.

Update the post with the news of the new Star Wars fireworks show set to start Summer 2016.

There is no implied end date in the post, and with the new launch pad being built behind the park I am guessing this will be an ongoing show.
This also means no Frozen fireworks this summer, and with the rest of the SW additions, most likely no Frozen Summer Fun

Fantasmic! takes place in the amphitheater behind the Beauty in the Beast stage, where SithS takes place over the Chinese Theatre.

If F! runs about 30 mins, is it possible to exit it and make it to a viewing spot for SithS?

Yep, it is very possible. You want to be in a position to leave right as the show is over to beat the crowds out of the ampitheater
