Guide contact via email

I was wondering if anyone communicates with their guide via email? I am an email person and really wish I could ask questions and communicate via email with my guide.

I do! My rep is great and the fact that we can chat/communicate via email is fabulous!!

I did with mine after my initial visit. Even communicated with the QAM only via email.

Mine is not an e-mail peron, I tried to get him to communicate via e-mail but he didn't

DVC Guides do not even have their email address on their business cards. I read somewhere on the boards that DVC Management does not want it's guides communicating with guests via email.

My guide said they are not allowed to communicate via email. That being said, several members have posted that their guide did/does email them.
I think it just depends on your particular guide.

The line that DVD employees are suppose to use is: "we don't use email because talking on the phone is more personal".

In truth, their legal department doesn't want a email record of something that shouldn't have been put in writing. You may receive a hello email but nothing of substance. Most Guides don't want to take a chance and possibly lose their job so they stay away from external email.

I have been communicating via email with our guide. I prefer that way for the same reason Disney's legal team doesn't like it, I get answers in writing. If it will do any good if there is a dispute is another story. Haven't had any problems so far.

That is interesting. I have talked to my guide over the phone many times but email MUCH more. In fact he is GREAT at returning emails (usually within a half hour each time). When I sent a referral his way recently he even said to me "don't forget to give them my email". I love being able to contact with him via email, he answered a lot of our questions that way in the beginning when I had a ton and was considering buying. Glad I found a guide who "does" email
