Guests?

We'll be staying at OKW the week after Christmas. My brother and his wife live about 45 minutes or an hour away. I was wondering if we could invite them over for dinner with us in our villa. It would be nice to see them and visit for a few hours, but I don't want to invite them and then find out that it's not permitted. Does anyone know if this is allowed?

We Have friends in Sebring and wanted to invite them up for the day, play golf, sit by the pool and have dinner. Now I'm comfortable in extending the invite. Its our first trip home and we have newbie jitters, don't want to upset our valued neighbors.

Just be sure to tell your guests that it's considered poor form to show up with a mattress strapped to the top of their car!!

This is an easy yes. It becomes a little more unclear when your're talking about them using the resort facilities like the pool. Even then it should be OK as long as the overall number of people are reasonable to the unit(s) you have reserved and they are well behaved which of course your guests would be. Enjoy.

Are your guests allowed to swim in the BCV pool? SAB? How does this work, do you need to take them to the front desk to get a wristband?

Desperado, since they're not staying at BCV, none of them will be allowed to swim at SAB. In case you don't know, this location is excluded from pool-hopping unless you're staying at that resort.

If you have a situation where you have guests visiting and you are staying at BCV, you can get resort ID's equal to your room's capacity. (You'll be asked to show them at SAB.)

When we stayed at BC a few weeks ago, we had no problem with guests entering SAB. I showed my resort ID, said they were with us & they got a bracelet. They were all adults - would this make a difference?

They also had no problem getting into the resort by telling that they were visiting guests.

Worst Case scenario you could always list them with the unit and get them non charging keys even. Room occupancy limits MIGHT come into play but if you're within the limit DVC will allow that day, it'd be the same as they were staying there.

I was at BCV this summer. Some Florida friends were coming to visit so I inquired at the desk and then with the CM's giving out wrist bands. Same answer, no problem if they are my guests and I am present with my ID to get them wrist bands.
I imagine if the pool/resort was at max capacity it may have been a different answer.

I was happy to hear the answer. Although I do see how it could be a problem if people abused this. Hopefully it will not be abused and we can continue to invite an occasional guestto our home and let them swim in our pool!

BTW no one checked my room # for occupancy #, although I would have been under still.

Interesting about the use of the pools. I hadn't thought of that. Unless it's an unseasonally warm day in January, I'm sure my brother and SIL wouldn't be interested in swimming. Now, we Ohioans on the other hand......

If it comes down to it, we would be within occupancy limits since we'll have a 1 bdrm for us and another for my parents.
