Ok, I am going to DisneyWorld, in less than two weeks. We are going up to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Her grandparents live in Florida and want to meet us at the resort for the day. I have read and seen that all the resorts have guardhouses. We are staying at the All Star Movies, will it be possible for them to get in and spend the day with us or are we going to have to meet at the theme parks?

Does anyone know or can point me in the right direction?

They can just say that they are checking in or checking out the property and the guard will let them through. They are usually a little more strict at the deluxe resorts because of the pool hopping. Not too much of that going on at the values.

Thank you, I was not sure and did not want to call WDW and have the chance of them sticking charges just because I have two people visiting. I am just counting down the days less than 12 days to go! This is the first time we will be staying on disney property.

Or, they can just state the actual intent - that they are visiting Guests of the resort.

I agree with this because if they mentioned they had a reservation the Cast Member at the security gate would ask to see photo ID to check them off the list for guests checking in that day. That's what was done for my families recent stays at the Contemporary and Polynesian, so I assume it's done at all the WDW Resorts no matter what type they are.

I'd recommend just stating the true intent, that they've come to visit you at your resort. Be sure to give your daughter's grandparents your room number before arriving, in case security wants to give you a call to check.

Yea someone told me that with disney, honesty is the best policy and you usually get what you want as long as you are honest and polite.

Everyone needs to show a photo id when you are at the guard shack. It doesn't matter if you are going to visit the gift shop or check in.

my friend came to see us at the beach club last year, he just said he was visiting friends. no need to lie.

At the All Stars, there is one gate guard for all three resorts. Just ell the grandparents which resort you are at and your room number. They tell that to the gate guard and they will be fine. They should have their photo ID out and handy as they will probably need to show that. And if they aren't sure which way to go, the guard will be happy to tell them.

You might suggest that they go online and look at a map of the All Stars because then they can also go back and park near your building.

My mom got in fine to visit my sister at Pop last year. She would park at the resort, use the pool, ride bus with them to the park.
