Is it true you can go to Disney Springs Guest Services to see if Eligible to have AP's reinstated/get a new one from letting them expired during Covid?

I want to know if you can apply what you have paid for tickets towards an annual pass if they resume selling them. We have a trip at the end of July. We are AP's but hubby is not. I want to get him an AP. Will they let me apply what I spent on tickets in July if they start selling them this year?

So I am assuming its easier and quicker than trying to call?

I have read many reports that people have better luck there than calling, yes.

No one knows for sure. Until Disney announces they are selling them again, and what the details are, we can only speculate. In the past, yes, you could do that without any issues. No guarantee the policy will be the same.

My husband and I went to Disney World September’20 using our APs before they expired. We just came back 2 weeks ago. I did not call to ask if we could have the passes reinstated in advance. I purchased the Military tickets. When I went to activate them at Disney Springs I asked the cast member if I could get my annual pass reinstated. She researched our account right there, saw that we had passes that expired October’20 and applied the value of our military tickets to a new annual pass that began that day, not at the end of our expired pass. We just paid the difference!

FYI, a couple came in after us and asked for their pass to be reinstated. Different agent inside the building (!) told them no. So it’s not only phone agents that give different answers. Fortunately our agent heard and sent the supervisor over and they got their passes:)

Good to know to maybe aske for supervisor or try again later.

My sons expired Jan 2021 and the rest of ours expired before of nov but I wasn’t even able to renew them in the app, only my sons. And now we need a pass for our 3 yo.

Oh, I see. Surely, you’ll be able to renew the others in person. But for the other, that is a different thing isn’t it? Cause your three year old didn’t need a ticket before. I hope your three year old gets their pass!

Disney has been allowing guests to purchase APs for kids who just turned 3 at the same time they buy their recovery APs. So if you’re able to buy new for the ones that expired, you should be able to get one for your 3 year old. So good luck at GR in Disney Springs!

I am not worried about the 3yo just worried about getting our passes back since 3 of them I couldn’t even renewed online if I had wanted to, no idea why.

You probably couldn't renew online because they expired so long ago. However, if you visit GR in DS (or call the Passholder phone line) they will let you know whether you're eligible to buy new ones to replace the expired ones. Each case is evaluated separately because it depends on when your APs expired and other factors that I don't know. If you're approved to buy replacement APs, you can buy the 3 y/o an AP at the same time.

No I couldn't even renew online right before they expired. Im just so nervous I won't be approved since I never could renew them online in the first place.

I haven't heard of anyone who's been turned down, as long as their AP expired during the covid closure.

However, everyone should be aware that Disney is allowing those affected to purchase a *new* AP, not a renewal...therefore you'll pay a full new AP price instead of a renewal AP price. This is why you have a new expiration date.

I am fine with a new AP I just want it back. Technically it expired after reopen which I know people have still gotten new even then .

You could wait just as long. I believe they're still doing the check-in process, so they will text you when they can take you in ...which could be an hour or more. Which is fine if you were planning on shopping there anyway

Well seeing that somepeople have to wait a month to hear back if they are approved this will still be easier and we will be going in the morning which is usually quieter in Disney Springs.
