This will be our first trip to Disneyland and it's been very last minute. We started planning just Thursday and get there this Thursday, so I'm trying to plan on a very short timeline.

We got military salute tickets on our local base, but I will need to trade them for hard tickets. Do they have a guest relations in Downtown Disney (that's what we've done in Florida) or will we have to do it the first morning as we enter the parks?

There is no Guest Relations in DTD. The Guest Relations windows are next to the DCA entrance, to the left around some planters when facing the DCA entrance. Guest Relations opens about 30 minutes before the earliest park opening.

Thank you so much!! We might try to take a trip over there the night before too.

You can exchange them at the gate when you enter, I've seen people do it that way. Even if you get them in advance you'll stall have to get your pics taken when you enter, it doesn't save that much time. There is also a GR window near the lockers outside the DL gate. But I'm pretty sure exchanging vouchers for tickets is something that can be done at any ticket booth.

It can be done at any Guest Relations counter when we were at Disney World. We've always had a 20ish minute wait outside the parks.

I've used the Salute the Troops park-hoppers before. You'll exchange them for a regular park-hopper pass at the turnstiles. You show your military ID, they scan the sheet, take your photo and print your pass.
