Guest of Honor name badge--How come I was the ONLY one wearing one this trip?

i bought goh badges for me, my h2b, parents & wedding party for our wdw wedding this march. the badges are so cool!

fyi - you dont have to have a goh badge to get asked questions, me & my fiance often do a day of matching tshirts & we always get asked questions, i think its funny & i try to help.

I thought you were only supposed to wear GOH badges if it was your birthday or anniversary or some special occasion.

GOH badges can be worn anytime[these you have to buy]. You can get a free birthday or anniversafy badge at each park and DTD which you should wear on the celebration day itself.

Do they really have anniversary badges?? Dh and I are going to be there on our anniversary this year and would love to be able to get one for a keepsake.

We just wore our's on our trip, the first week of May... I was excited to have our name badges!!! However, I really don't think they garnered us much attention. Not even when having lunch at the Castle. :confused3

I too almost felt like the reaction was, 'Hey, what are doing wearing an official name badge'.

I did have one CM. a man in the shops, greet me brightly, by name, and say something like "hope you're having a nice day!". And, that was really nice!

I got badges for me, my DH, MIL and DD3. I got asked questions almost every day especially if I were split up from my family to go to the restroom. I was waiting for my husband to get out of the restroom when this guy comes up to me and asks me if the Stitch ride was around here (we were in Tomorrowland). So I point him in the right direction and then tell him I wasn't an official CM but I didn't mind answering his question. Well he got upset at me at first that I helped him out then he kind of laughed it off and said to me that everywhere I go people are going to be confused and ask me questions. Well when my husband got out of the bathroom we proceeded to make our way to Stitch's escape. Well guess who we saw when we got in the holding area! The same man! I kind of figured he would be there since he did ask me where it was. But I was not expecting him to still be saying stuff to me. He then jokingly asks me "Hey where's the nearest restroom", really loudly, I just wanted to tell him "Ok, you can let it go now". :earboy2: I was kind of embarrased.

You can order the GOH badges from the Christmas store at DTD also. I ordered one for each of the boys, plus Mickey ear hats with their names embroidered on them. Shipping was very quick and everything looks great! Now I just need December to get here.

I got GOH badges for everyone in our group. (DD, DF, DFS, DM and myself) And I really did not get much of a reaction. My DF smokes and I know that someone asked him if he was aloud to smoke while working :rolleyes1 But most people who did talk about them where really nice and asked where we got them. Even some CM's.

Those are SOOO Cool!!! I thought they were just a sticker or something, they are actually like the real CM badges. I definitely am going to get one of them, thanks for the awesome link!!!

My two DD's 5 and 7 had theirs on last week, and everyone went crazy over them!

Shhh!!! I have these as a surprise for the kids for when we go (DH told me in no uncertain terms that he would NOT wear one!) LOL!

I got the Princess ones for DD & I but I got them a long time ago back when they were out of the Red Mickey ones forever and I was convinced they weren't going to get them in again and I have 3 boys.

So, I got some made up myself (not with any Disney characters of course). I got red oval ones that had this kid type of drawing with a little boy pretending to be a "prince" he had a crown, sword & cape. The one year old's says "Prince in Training" and the older boys say "Everyday Prince". (Since the Princess ones say "Everyday Princess".

I'm actually hoping they are different enough that I don't get asked too many questions as it's our first time and I would be clueless if they asked me where anything was!

Can you buy GOH badges at the park? I wish I had seen this sooner we are leaving in 9 days. I am worried they won't get here before we leave if I order them for the family.

I had a rude woman ask me, "what makes you so special?" She was actually jealous! :rotfl2: I told her I wasn't allowed to discuss it. :rotfl:

Lori

That is kind of funny - why would one act like that at the happiest place on earth.

Do you happen to remember if there is one if you are on your honeymoon? We will be on our honeymoon this coming October.

Sorry I don't know if there is a honeymoon badge. I just found out a few weeks ago about the anniversary badge.

You can always get the anniversary one and when people ask what anniversary you are celbrating you can tell them "The zeroeth"

Can anyone tell me where you can get the Anniversary badge? Do you buy them like the GOH badges or are they free like the Birthday Pins?
Thanks A bunch!!!

I've bought them for DS (5) and DD (1) for our trip in TWO WEEKS!!!! I called the number for the Christmas store (I've lost it, but it was posted on this board somewhere). A very nice CM called me back in a day or so and took the order. They will be waiting for me at the resort when I check in. I'm so excited. DS will be so surprised and will think it is "way cool". I know DD is too young, but the were the special gold badges so I got one for a souviner. How bad a mom would I be when 30 years from now DS goes on about how he got a badge for the 50th anniversery, but she didn't. I know it happens since my brother and I torment my mother in the exact same way!

Anyone have the phone number for the Christmas Store? I want to call and have GOH made up for my kids and delivered to our room. Thanks.
Michele

DD8 wore hers on 4/29 - 5/4 and it was great. Various CM's made her feel so special as they called her by name. As she came around for her 5th ride in an hour on RnR coaster the CM yelled out "Kelly's Back!" Push in the MK called her by name as he talked with her and many people asked me how she got the CM badge. I'm sorry that she didn't have it on previous trips.
