Cool idea. Where did you purchase the water fans and glow necklaces from? Thanks. :surfweb:

The water fans were from Walmart. The glow necklaces were from the dollar store. We searched forever for the necklaces. You can probably find them at other places like Target or Walmart or a party store. The problem is that at all those places they only had huge packs with like 10-12 necklaces/bracelets in an assortment of colors. I wanted individually wrapped necklaces in pink and purple. So it was a search. At one dollar store they only had orange and purple necklaces (obvious Halloween overstock). But we eventually found what we were looking for. Good luck! :thumbsup2

i like all the ideas... but wasn't it a little $$$$ for the mickey ears for everyone. I originally wanted to do that as well, but when I thought about what it would cost for 40-50 of them it blew up the budget.

The ears are cheaper if you buy them yourself than if you go through the Disney Florist, and we Disneyland Annual Passholders get a 20% off coupon when we renew our passes.

Also, now that you can get ears on DisneyShopping.com, I'll bet you can use any of the numerous codes and sales they release continually. Check out www.mousesavers.com for the latest.

AWESOME!
But if I bring them in for my escape wedding...will they put them out? How will that work?

We did not do favors. We did a really nice dinner for everyone at V&A after the wedding and opted not to do favors since in my experience they are usually tossed.

Talk to your planner and see if s/he will arrange it - sometimes they will do it for you. Otherwise, you could just have one of your friends/family put them out for you when they get there.

Actually, I believe your planner needs to put them out. The last I checked, they prefer to do it than let one of your guests do it.

There have been a few Disney brides who gave out Mickey ears hats with everyone's names. They are sooo cute and you can take a great picture of everyone at your wedding wearing them. I know there is a bride who used them as place cards.

You're probably not thinking of me, but that's what I did! Dual-purpose favors rock! My guests loved them, too.

PS- There is NOTHING like having a great photo of your two bosses in Mouse Ears.

We did welcome bags with assorted things for people when they checked into the hotels.

Then, for the wedding favors, we got a bunch of Disney frames and gave them to our planner. Then when people arrived at the the Wedding Pavilion for our ceremony a Disney photographer took pictures of each couple/person going in. Disney then took those pictures, developed them, and put them in the frames during our ceremony. At our reception in Epcot, the frames with their pictures were waiting on them to take home.

I think it was pretty cool. Even if they didn't like the picture, surely everyone likes to have a Disney picture frame. It's something they will always use rather than something they may never use again.

We are going to have personalized packets of lemonade with our names on them. These are going to be our favors to be handed out at the wedding.

We are also going to have little pails and shovels filled with treats for our guest. We are doing a nautical/beach theme for our wedding so the pails fit right in.
Inside we have....
Purell,
glow sticks,
ponchos,
sunscreen,
snacks
and personalized M&Ms.

We are thinking about putting personalized maps in from the Disney Website. I also want to find some rock candy and little packets of iced tea to put in there. I was thinking of putting bubbles in there but I don't know how well that will go getting them there on the plane. We are only doing these for the people who are staying on property.
Hope this helps!

We used Rice Krispie Mickeys as our placecards. I did up the stickers at home and sent them to my planner who had them stuck on. We were also able to pick the colour of the chocolate on the ears so it matched. We also did luggage tags ordered through our planner and have been happy to see lots of them attached to items belonging to our guests!

Oh WOW! I love the luggage tags! I didn't know that was an option!

We did welcome bags with snacks, and then we had a silhouette artist at the reception and also chocolate Mickey ears from DFTW. I don't think you should feel obligated at all. We fed and entertained our guests SOO much, I know we did right by them :) But, I enjoyed coming up with the welcome bags (did a turn of the century "Pop Up Video" type thing where each item had an explanation), the Silhouette Artist was WONDERFUL and a great addition to the reception. The chocolate ears were probably an impulse purchase :)
