What happens when a person staying in a DVC arrive days after check in?
Do they need to be on ressie?

Also can a "guest"come for the day to DVC wil they be allowed pool acess?

We've had day guests and they were let into the resort by giving our name at the guard house.

We have put other guests on our ressies to give them pool access in case swimming was an issue. We were within the occupancy limits, we had 2 studios and with these people, we had 8. We never did make time to swim though.

The only DVC resort where pool access may be a problem would be BCV. As bobbiwoz posted, day guests usually aren't a problem.

I had a friend decide to join DH & me in the middle of a trip last year. :goodvibes I just went to the front desk told them that an additional guest would be joining my party. I gave them her name.

She arrived while we were at the park so the she checked in a the desk. They checked her in and gave her a room key. :) We met up with her later.

It was real easy. She had no problems. The front desk only required that she show photo id.

Does this personn have to be below the mx occucpancy?
We are at BCV

You cannot exceed the occupancy of the villa with the added person. If their addition exceeds the occupancy, you'll either need to get another room or they will need to get another room.

I meant for a day guest
Can I have an additional guest for the day noto taying in room?
They will however need a card for the pool.

The other situation where you would encounter a serious problem is if you are on the dining plan. If that's the case, they would have to be on the dining plan for the entire period of the reservation -- not just the period they were actually present.

Wife and I and 2 kids are staying in one bedroom.
SIL wants to come by to see the kids spend day at pool etc.
She will not be overnight guest
will this be aproblem at SAB.
hAS ANYONE HAD A SIMULAR SITUATION?

You can only get a key (for access to the pool) for people who are registered to your room.

If this person does not put you over the max allowed for the room, you can add them to your reservation, and she will get a key.

If this guest does put you over the max occupancy, you will not be allowed to add them to the reservation, they will not have a key, and will not be allowed to enter the pool area.

Edited to add: oops, just read your later message. If one of your children is under three, you can definitely add your SIL to the reservation and get her a key. However, MS has been allowing people to book 5 in a 1-bedroom, so you may be able to get a key for her even if your children are over three. It's worth asking about when you check in.

SAB is the one area it will be a problem. If it's just the 4 of you and your SIL comes by, you likely could add her to the reservation and she'd have a key since DVC will usually allow 5 in a 1 BR. Otherwise there's a good chance she won't be able to go to SAB. If there are other people, that could cause a problem. If you had the DDP and you add her, you'll likely have to pay for her as well.
