Guest Accommodations

I am wondering what the best way to save money is for my guest's accommodations.

We went with a small room block, so our concern is not about that.

Would a Disney travel agent be able to offer a better deal than DFTW?

It really depends on when you're going and what special offers Disney has at the time. Sometimes the offers for the general public are better than the discounts through DFTW and vice versa. Sometimes a travel agent can get you extras included in a package that make it a better deal than booking on your own. Sometimes it's cheaper to book on your own and skip the package. Unfortunately you won't really know until Disney starts releasing discounts for your dates to compare with the prices in your room block.

a travel agent isn’t going to get you better deals per se, but they can often do the volumes of research quicker than the average individual. that said, we offered a room block, but our immediate group rented a place for a week with all star vacation homes and i stayed the night before on property. most guests stayed on property, some used the block discount, some not.
