It was me! Hooray! (Yeah, I'm sure that was a tough guess)
Last night my bf and I put up the Christmas decorations. Once we turned on the Christmas lights and stood back to admire our handiwork, he dropped to one knee and did the deed. It was fantastic. Totally worth the wait (well, except for those spouts of high anxiety these past couple of months; lol!)!
I opted to tell everyone through a super sneaky e-mail. I sent out the pics labeled as "Christmas tree" so no one really knew what they were looking at. Here's the tree (it's HUGE!)
And here's the close-up
I tried to get a better close-up of the ring, but like other posters have mentioned, it's really hard to get a decent shot of a ring! And in case you're wondering, yes, it is a Disney head amethyst ring. He knows I don't like diamonds as a general rule, and he definitely knows we're Mickey fanatics, so I think he made a great choice.
While we're at this, I might as well make this a quasi-planning journal, since Lord knows I've been planning this wedding for many months before the ring made it official!
Date: April 23, 2007 (my grandparents' wedding anniversary)
Location: Yacht Club Wedding Gazebo
Time: noon
Photographer: Randy Chapman
Intimate "reception": Portabella Yacht Club
Hair/makeup: Anna from Makeover Majic
Added options: Bridal Portrait, as they call it, or Magic Kingdom Photo Shoot, as we call
Dress: Betsy & Adam (it's a terrible view; I'll take better pics later)
The only things we really have left to do are choose the cake, the flowers, and his suit, send out invites, write the vows, choose an officiant...ok, apparently the list is much longer than I thought! Good thing we still have a few more months!
