We're ready. We have very good friends, very good, Jewish family, probably our closest friends. Each year, some time in December, we do a Honamas dinner. Not sure when it will be, but we always do one. And I bought our Hanukkah card for them.
Yay for Hanukkah.Last year I made my own latkas for the first time. I'm excited for this year because now I have a boyfriend who is also Jewish.
As a kid, my sister and I would take turns lighting the menorah. We got one gift a night- usually a few small things, a few medium things, and one big thing. It was fun to see the pile of presents and get to choose one to open each night.
My DD, almost 6, was born on the first day of Hanukkah almost 6 years ago. My daughter has heard me tell the story thru the years and for the past couple of years, on the first day of Hanukkah, she insists its her birthday! I try to explain its on a different day each year, and that her birthday is on the 19th, but she doesnt understand that and gets very upset that we are not celebrating her birthday on the 1st day!
