DD's loved all the Mountains, Mission to Space, Test Track, ToT, RnRC. But, they really loved - get ready - The Animation Academy! This was so much fun for them (12 y.o. and 10 y.o.). You go in and are taught how to draw a Disney character. They did it about 8 times. One time, the animator gave DD one of his drawings! I am going to frame their sketches because after a few sessions, they were really good. Try it next time your there.

My DD10, DS9 & DD8 just loved it there. Not just the drawing but the whole thing. I could not believe how they kept wanting to go back there.

I dont have a map in front of me but you walk straight down the middle toward movie ride turn ride as if you were going to Arial and it is back their I believe. It is along that side strip I know that.

What a bummer, we're just back and completely missed it. One of my ds's is a budding artist and he would have really enjoyed that. Guess we'll have to start planning another trip!! :smooth:

My 2 DSs loved it as well and it is one of the things they remember the most about the Studios. I actually thought the attraction was closed - so they will be happily surprised during our next trip!

you know we went thru the animation--thinking it was like it was a few years ago getting to see people working on an upcoming film -but it wasn't -but the kids enjoyed themselves getting to see Chicken Little & Abyy Mallard....

ANYWAY - we saw kids coming out w/their drawings b ut completely missed how they went in/where...where those kids with us during the movie part & then left or did they have a completely seperate entrance? I wasn't sure if it was something you paid for or were chosen to do either.... :confused3

Hmmm...we didn't do that. I'll have to remember for next year.

My dd's favorite "attraction" was the resort pool.

We're just back too and it was a highlight of our trip. DD (age 8) really enjoyed it. I did too.

The entrance is just off of the area with the computers and where Chicken Little and Abby Mallard were doing the greeting. There is a set of double doors and to the left of them, about three TV screens showing characters being drawn. Usually there is a Cast Member near the door too. It is free.

I remember traveling with my younger sister and after a great vacation she said she liked the elevators the best! :rotfl:

Bobbi :flower:

I'm confused - is this at MGM or Disneyquest? I've heard about something at Disneyquest, but we won't be going there.....

This is at MGM- in the 'Art of Animation' building - just past the 'Voyage of the Little Mermaid'.

We did this tour and were waiting to get into the animation studio and were turned away---the artist "didn't show up for work today" Serious bummer for my daughter. :confused3 Then, we did see it at Disney Quest also--since i can't really compare them, i won't , but the one at DQ is about 15 min. long, with different characters done each time, so you can stay all day if you wanted to :goodvibes We didn't get to do this one either, we had to go when we found it. One of these will be priority when we go back :teeth:
