I brought my 6yo to Toys R Us so he could finally use a gift card that he got for his birthday.

After spending what seemed like eternity looking at EVERYTHING in the store I talked him into a pogo stick since I have so many fun memories of jumping on one when I was a kid. They had a big one for big kids/adults, which I said that I would put on my birthday list. But since my birthday is in December I went ahead and bought myself a present. :rotfl2: Of course I tried one out in the store and I still have the knack. :cool1:

You should have seen me pogo--I did it 101 times at home before I hopped off to give my 15yo son a turn. My 6yo is still trying to get the hang on his little one, but he is determined. :)

Have any of you bought and used toys from your childhood?

I've always wanted a unicycle, but think I'm a bit too old to make that wish come true. :lmao:

Back before I had my daughter, and I was the only girl in a house full of testosterone, I bought myself a big old really cool doll antique doll house. Now, my daughter has adopted it, but I get to be a little girl with her sometimes, too!

My brother gave me one for Christmas years ago. I enjoyed many endless hours of jumping around outside. I would love to hop a pogo stick again.

If a 45yo mom like me can still keep her balance, I'm betting that you can! :teeth:

In a hurry, sometimes having kids is an excuse to do the kid activities. I always said that the only reason my DH had kids was so that he could play with legos again. :rotfl:

That sounds so fun!
I admit I have bought my kids some things I never had as a kid. DD has a huge play kitchen. I always wanted one of those.

I found a Weebles Haunted House when my ds was a baby and bought it. I loved that toy when I was a kid. :teeth:

Maybe I will buy the kid across the street one and make sure that it is safe for him to use. Or better yet I will buy my great niece that is due in a few weeks one. They may be non-existent by the time she is old enough to use it. :rotfl:

My DH has a big box FULL of the Star Wars preschool Hasbro toys, "for when we have kids..."

I SURE hope our kids like Star Wars, for his sake!!

I've heard that some grown women like to use crayons and coloring books :rolleyes1

My Mom got me Lite Bright about 2 years ago for Christmas because she was tired of hearing me complain that I never got one as a kid. I played with it once and then got bored. :rotfl2:

Other than that, I bought myself a Snoopy Snowcone maker cause I used to have one when I was little and I loved it. :goodvibes

:rotfl: My MIL used to get mad at my DD for not coloring right. :teeth:

I'm the one that colored the White House, which was the last page in my coloring book when I was little, some color. My brother made some comment about me not making it white, but I told him that it would have looked stupid coloring a page in a coloring book white. So I'm the last one to ever make a comment about anyone coloring or to criticize how they do it! :teeth:

Yep, I can still do it. In fact, my DD10 asks me to show the neighbor kids how it's done! Ya gotta love being cool to the kids!

I bought a dollhouse with a ton of furniture, dolls, etc when I found out I was pregnant with DD#1. Two girls in the end & neither one of them played with it. :rotfl: So much for that idea!

I do buy crayons & coloring books for myself though--the kids know not to touch Mom's crayons! It's a great stress reliever! :thumbsup2

Unfortunately, I'm feeling ALL of my 45 years!:) I just hurt thinking about using
a pogo stick. :lmao: Of course that could be because of my back injury. Just before the doctor put in my epidural today he told me i have the back of an 'older' person. eek!
Have fun out there for all of us other 45 years old wusses, uh er people. :)

My back isn't too bad, but my neck is getting aged and I know that roller coasters won't be a good idea before too long, so I want to go on as many as I can before I can't do them. The funny thing is that yesterday we went to Kings Dominion in VA and I did a few coasters and my neck actually feels better. Maybe this is better than a chiro for neck pain (I can dream!). :teeth:

I still have coloring books & markers, plus when my b/f comes over, we sometimes play the Disney version of Sorry that I have. I'm still a "young'in" at 26 yrs. old though. :teeth:

I used to play with a friend's pogo stick every time I was at her house and we played outside. She hated me, because she'd never get past 10, and I'd be on the thing for hours.

I want a big people hoppity hop! For my fourth birthday, we had a HUGE party in my backyard and someone gave me one. Less than two hours later, my then 10 year old sister was using it and POPPED it (I don't know how, she was maybe 60 pounds soaking wet back then!). Ever since, I've pined for one, but they don't make them for big kids!

Unicycles are fun, too! You'd never know I was such a klutz from the toys I mastered, lol!

Nikki, I have a tub of markers and stampers that the kids know are hands off. I color as much as they do! There are always gel pens and crayons in my pocketbook for the restaurant waits, but I'm always coloring right along with them.

OK, I'll admit it to you and only you (all of the rest of you, don't read :lmao: ) that I was eying that game in Toys R Us today. Of course we have the regular Sorry game, so I couldn't justify getting the Disney version. But I think we might be missing some pieces--really not worth ordering replacement parts... :teeth:

Lol. Right now I know it would not be the thing for me. Riding in the car is a killer!:) And, I do so love roller coasters..... Mine is in the neck too.;)

Oh, if only I was there! :lmao:

My oldest daughter got a pogo stick for her 10th or 11th birthday, quite a few years ago. Everyone wanted to take turns on it, but I was surprised when my mother wanted to try it. She was around 62 or 63 at the time.

Someone grabbed the video camera because we just knew this was going to be good. After a few rough starts my mom got the hang of it, or so we thought. We have her on video camera and she's bouncing up and down, the spring is squeaking, and she's counting every hop. We hear 25...26...27...28...then AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! as my mother misses the patio and begins to topple down a small grassy hill. Thankfully she wasn't hurt because the rest of us were in hysterics! :rotfl2:

Haha! I forgot your original question! I've always wanted a drum set to bash away on, but never got one.

Our youngest child is 15 and I still buy PlayDoh. It can be lots of fun to play with! We, meaning ages 15-50, play the Cootie game, and Don't Spill the Beans, and I do enjoy a good coloring book and crayons every now and then. :teeth:
