Guess we better start the late Feb early March code/AP watch

I am so jealous seeing all your great rates for Jan/Feb. This is usually the time we go but hubby wants to go the first week in March. I hope we see some kind of rates for this time. I would even like to see a package discount.

We have AAA ressies at the Dolphin 2/27 - 3/6. When AP rates came out Dolphin could give me my first 2 nights, but it turned out to be the same price as my AAA rate. So, I'm not sure if AP rates will help me at the Dolphin. I, however, would LOVE to stay at WL, and if there are great AP rates I might be willing to switch.

The problem will be convincing DH. We have never stayed at the Dolphin, but I have been hyping the resort since we decided to go that I doubt he'll want to switch. DH likes the fact that the Dolphin is in close proximity to WOS (where his daughters will be competiting for cheering, and one of the main reasons for our trip), that I doubt he'll agree to stay at a resort that isn't close to WOS, but we'll see.

So, I'll be watching for rates just like everyone else, and then making a decision. Either way - WE ARE GOING TO WDW!!!

We'll be going 02/20-02/25 and currently have resies at PoR but would love to switch to AKL (or save some money on PoR). History shows that they offered them for our time last year so....

Got AP rate at Gf 2/11/04-2/15/04(great rate) Family wants to try AKL, so we currently have a split reservation 2/15/04-2/18/04 standard view AAA rate $261/night, tax included. Hate to be greedy, but would love an AP rate for these nights too. Any historical perspective and/or git feeling for this peak time?

Mousesavers.com has historical data on AP rate dates. In 2003 they came out at the end of jan for feb/march.

Well count me in on the late Feb/March watch. I have a AAA rate on a standard room BWI Feb. 22-29 but would love a better rate.

Count me in too...I'm watching with you. I currently have the nurse's rate at the Swan for 2/19-2/26 AND a AAA rate at Poly Lagoon View (Which is practically rack rate at $506 a night if you ask me!!!) I'm cancelling Poly and sticking with the Swan unless a good AP rate or other code comes out soon. In May 2003, we upgraded from POR to YC Waterview with a great public code that came out and now I'm spoiled with the deluxes!!!!

I just got off the phone with WDTC and talked to a very nice CM. He said that Disney is going back to the two month code periods. He expects the next round of codes to come out in January for February/March.

We are leaving February 14th so I'm hoping the next set of codes will cover my dates.

Between now and May 15th, I have 4 trips planned to WDW. My DD has been accepted into the WDW college program, so this week I booked 2 nights at ASMu in Jan on the AP code. I am going in March during spring break to see DD, so I hope there is an AP code for March 4-6. March 7-11 I will be using DVC points. I will also need an AP code for May 13-16 when I return to drive back to Texas with DD. For March and May I am hoping DD can get a room with her discount.

Divamomto3, ouch! That $509 hurts! My rate at BWI is around $400 per night with the AAA rate, so here's to keeping our fingers crossed. Must say though, I did stay Poly lagoon view one trip (in value season), it was awesome.

Looking for March 9-19 for PC....already booked in and paid using AAA rate. My AP expires 1/27/04 wondering if I should renew then to pay the renewal fee or wait until I get down there. All ready have several PH days left from years ago. Ummmmmmm what to do.......any suggestions?

So you got an AP rate beyond the 2/11 date because you started your trip on that date? I wasn't sure if it worked that way or not.

I, too am hoping !!

We are going the week of Mardi Gras and know MANY people who are waiting for codes....otherwise they are staying at Swan/Dolphin or off site.

I guess I understand the two month policy - wait and see how many rooms they fill, I guess, but how many people of the total coming are planning "last minute" trips? I know this happens occassionally, but for the most part, I would think people's plans are made - so.....give us the codes already!!!!

Yes, the rate you get on check-in is the rate for your stay. We checked in on the last day AP rates were available this past August, but we got the rate for our entire 8 day stay.

We just added 6 nights to the start of our trip but we'll get there 2/14, which is Presidents weekend. Do you think we'll be out of luck for a discount because it's a holiday weekend?

Palmtreegirl~I'm in the same boat as you are as I'm arriving Feb 14th. I wouldn't count on discounts being released for that weekend. It's not only a holiday but the start of peak season. You never know, though, maybe we'll get lucky.....

I am actually hoping for a package rate. I really would like to go on the Silver Plan. Bacause of our plan changes I have no reservations right now, I'm just going to see what happens with rates and codes.

Sending some pixie dust to everyone in hopes that the AP rates for Late Feb early March comes out earlier in Jan than they did last year. We will be there from March 8-18 and are praying for AP rates to come out sooner this way we will know what type of budget we are looking at.
