I've been reading the various situations regarding CM's dropping the first or last day on UPH passes. If you get lucky and they are willing to do this, do they still give the 10% discount?
Also, what is the approximate amount they take off for dropping a day? I see that a 1 day/1 park admission is $50, so is that a safe guesstimate on what they would drop per ticket?

If you aren't lucky enough to get a CM do this, can you find out first, and then determine which type of ticket you want to go with?
Must have all the details for my accountant DH!;) Thanks for any info. you can provide.

You can usually get them to drop the days. Here's the link on DIS for the prices Ticket Prices This type of ticket is best for the Kamikaze park visitor. Those that want to do everything all at the same time. There are others that just want the convenience of knowing they can do what they want when they want.

No one will promise you ahead of time that you can drop the days so you will not be certain until you check in. Also, the advance purchase discount and the DVC discount cannot be combined. You cannot drop any days on advance purchase tickets. Good luck.

We stayed at BWV the latter part of April and first part of May. We arrived on Saturday and checked out the following Saturday. When we checked in (mid to late afternoon), I told them I wanted to purchase 4-day PH passes. They asked if I wanted the UPH and I said no because we wouldn't be going to the parks that day or the last day of our trip because we were checking out about 9:00 am. They offered to sell me an UPH pass for 6 days for Sun-Fri (which excluded our arrival day and departure day). I would have been tempted, but we had never been to Universal Studios/Islands of Advanture, so I knew we would only be at WDW parks no more than 4 days, so it was still cheaper to purchase a 4-day PH pass.

I had called prior to our arrival to see how the UPH pass worked because I was concerned that we wouldn't be at the parks on the first and last day. I was told at that time that the arrival and departure days would be included. So I was a little surprised when I arrived and found that this wasn't necessarily so.

Just like Goofy, we checked in late (10:30 pm) on arrival day and were leaving early on departure day. Our check-in CM asked if we'd like UPH tix and I told him no, as we wouldn't get to use two days we'd be paying for. He said that the first day could be dropped and when I showed him our early departure flight time, he dropped the last day as well. The net result was a 9 day UPH for only a bit more than a 7 day PH Plus. I think the CM's have some discretion in how they sell the UPH, you just have to get one that wants to sell you more tix than a 4, 5 , or 7 day Park Hopper.
