Gues what was swimming in my pond?

Dh came and got me ,frantic ,because a furry animal was wrecking havoc in our beautiful pond...the whole thing was dirtied up-pump stopped up, all the plants tipped over-a big mess...I look and think" it's a cat???" Well it gets out....it was a Nutria! ewwwwwww

He scurried under the deck...tomorrow we hope to scare him away-there is farmland a block away.

Wow, I thought of my son who first told me about nutria when he lived in Louisiana. I never dreamed they were "up there."

He's gone & I completely cleaned out the pond-it was a muddy mess-no plants left-he ate all the waterlilies -it was a big mess. At least my goldfish are alive.

We've had voles in the pool filters. Neighbors cat in the pond. Even caught a woodchuck drinking out of the pond. Seeing that though would freak me out!
So glad your goldfish are ok.
