Guardians of the Galaxy at Epcot Timeline?!

Disney has always been about making money. The lands and attractions in Disneyland were used to showcase their movies and vice versa. They were making shows to promote their parks before they even opened. Disney knew how to make a buck, even if it was at his workers expenses. T-Shirts, hats and such have always been a big seller for Disney. It just has reached a whole new level because of popularity, population and even online.

However I do agree that Disney has seemed to have gotten even more money hungry over the years. With all of it's extra fees and events like the After Hours events and Flower and Garden previews. It seems like they come up with a new way to pick a person's pocket each year.

Yes you did. That's what you are inferring here. Disney didn't build Peter Pan to sell merchandise, guardians is rumored to built to sell merchandise, that's the way Disney operates now. Not once in that quote did you mention any of the other reasons you mentioned. Again like I said earlier, if you did I would have understood that. I haven't see FEA yet, so i can't comment on the quality or validity of why it was placed in Norway, but I can tell UOE is extremely unpopular and anything there would be an upgrade imo. Who is to say they don't put something mind blowing in there with a guardians theme. An announcement has even been made and people, not saying you, are already writing it off.

My opinion, Disney is looking up the street seeing a competitor spends hundreds of millions of dollars with great success and they want in. Proof, Pandora, Star Wars, toy story, and now potentially something from their marvel universe. Disney will always be king of Orlando, but it's hard to ignore the gains Universal has churned out the last few years.
Disney isn't worried about universal yet. If they were projects wouldn't take 4 years.

Nope, that always takes me out of it. I can't even watch a movie with Angelina Jolie in it either, because I keep thinking of her 30 or so kids.
Thank you for answering on behalf of the entire internet instead of letting others answer for themselves

Didnt seem like they was answering for the internet, just themselves. Seemed like you were just looking to start a discussion and pp gave their opinion :)

I'll be the first one to tell you that the disboards make up an incredibly small percentage of what is inside the parks on a daily basis.

True - the people on this board (for the most part) are Disney Fans - Disney already had them.
They have the Marvel property that could attract a different group of people - the comic book fans.
Unfortunately they are limited in which characters they can use in Florida - so GoG seems reasonable.

As for -" it does not fit in Epcot" - does Frozen - or was is just shoehorned into Norway?

Whoa, Gog will probably have a 3rd movie out by then.

Disney has to stop being so slow, they look like a turtle. Plus when they do open up things lately there's been problems (Frozen, ROL). Mostly they've just closed attractions and put up walls.

Universal meanwhile has looked like a Rabbit, in the past few years they've made 2 Harry Potter lands, a Simpsons section, Transformers, King Kong, updated Spiderman and the Hulk, a new water park, two new resorts and many others things I can't recall.

I wouldn't be surprised if Universal has a new theme park before Disney puts Gog inside Epcot.

I agree. Universal sure is looking a lot better development - wise than WDW at the moment. I wish that WDW would get it's act together!

Let's just hope they green light the Epcot project soon to ensure Tower of Terror is safe in Florida.

Speaking of which, all those folks upset over the California TOT being re-themed...did anyone think to write an honest to goodness letter rather than just post a bunch of comments on a blog or on social media? I'll be writing one soon regarding keeping the Florida TOT just in case they are still thinking of re-theming it (and yes, I do have my reasons; yes, I will share the letter here to ensure it goes viral because it actually goes beyond someone worried about his favorite ride disappearing...)
