guaranted catagory 8

has anyone had a guaranted catagory?
not sure what to expect when we get to our june 29 th cruise ?do oyu think we will get a upgrade?

I was told this once by a TA who practically promised me that we would get an upgrade from a cat four to a cat three. Of course it didn't happen though...from all that i have heard it is very rare to get one. However since you are gty cat 8, if you do get an upgrade you would get a navigator's verandah, and that would be very nice for you. good luck!!!

We had Cat 8 gty for the June 23 Wonder. Got our Docs yesterday, we are upgraded to Cat 6. Best of luck to you.

We had a Category 9 GTY in March of 2000 and we were upgraded to a Category 6 with Verandah.

Your 'destination category' depends on several complicated items I'm sure, but it is possible to go up more than one category.

The only downside to a GTY for you is that you don't know what cabin number you have until the documents are printed and distributed. You are guaranteed to at least be assigned to the category that you paid for and there's a possibility you'll move up.

If you booked directly thru DCL and you do not have a Travel Agent, you can check your cabin assignment online at the DCL Website. You go to the home page for the cruise line at www.disneycruise.com , click on the little suitcase above Captain Mickey for reservations, and then click on 'check your reservation' at the right side of the page. You'll need your DCL reservation number and the phone number that was given with the reservation. If you used a TA, you can't view the summary data for your own reservation, DCL must think it is beyond our comprehension.

any one know if there is a possibility of getting a upgrade once you get onboard ?,or is it once you get your docs with your cabin number then thats it ?

Yes, I remember reading about one or two that have experienced an upgrade at the checkin desk, so it's still a possibility, but a small one.
