GTY assignments

Does anyone know if there is any rhyme or reason to the order that Disney assigns rooms? I am in a Facebook group where some (with the same category) that have been assigned while others have not,

It could be that the ones already assigned were GTY specific category so they might have booked a 7a GTY rather than a VGT (guaranteed verandah) On the past two cruises where I booked GT rates the specific categories were assigned earlier than IGT, OGT and VGT, those tended to be assigned as late as a week before sailing.

This is also my experience. GTY first (sometimes this can be a random times) and then *GT much closer to sail date.

Sailed VGT last week on the fantasy. Cabin was assigned on day 14. It was assigned on day 8 on our previous 2 VGT fantasy sailings (September and May of 2024). Those with true GTY bookings got their cabin assignments much earlier.
