i don't like my dad right now...................you're probally saying its wrong and all but his boss decided they'd all go down to orlando this week and i am stuck home. and if that's not bad enough, after he got in yesterday(he flew), he called my mom and asked how to get to downtown disney even though he knows. he's just rubbing it in....... i wanna go back sooooo bad and can't wait until june! this sucks! so he ate at earl of sandwich yesterday to and my mom was like, "Hope it hurt going down!". he of course said no, it went down just fine and it tasted very good too!

now you're probally saying that its not his fault that his boss wanted them to go down there. i'm fine with that and all it's just, he isn't even excited to be going down there! the temps there are 80's. the temps here are 30's. take your pick. and he just looks at it like a normal business trip........grrrrr! just as i blab to myself over this, i'll let you all post your opinions............if ya want.......

no. i'm not saying i wanted to go....ok i did. but i know i can't go on business trips with him! its just the fact that he's down, in warmth, by my second favorite place on earth, is devastating. and he's not even excited he's going down! oh well......i get to go down in 5 months, 4 days. i'll try to manage..

It's a business trip. He's going there to work. Why should he be excited?

Okay, ever driven through downtown orlando? Didn't think so. That place is a madhouse and a mess. Even if you know HOW to get there, it can still get confusing. Getting directions is NEVER a bad idea in a city like that.

It is a normal business trip. people LIVE in orlando and don't go to disney. just because he's there doesn't mean he's in disney. DTD isn't a part of the official resort if you don't know. Thats why you don't need a ticket to get in. God he's probably buying you something down there.

You're going to disney soon. You could be a little more greatful, some kids never get to go.

ok, i didnt specify. they have like 2 days working. the rest, they are going golfing, hanging out, and going through orlando.

and i never said downtown orlando. i said downtown disney. he knows exactly where to go from his hotel. he's been there numerous times. he called for directions teasing my mom. and i know for a fact because i even asked him why he asked for directions and he said to make your mom mad.......

and when i go to disney in june, i am not going to any parks. we dont have the money and we cant afford it! its just me and my dad! my mom, brother, and sister dont even get to go to see me play, in my first ever national tournament! do you know how bad that feels? didn't think so. why am i telling you all this? we are flying down, playing volleyball, flying home. and i am grateful that i at least get to go play volleyball at the wide world of sports. end of story.

sorry if i came off rude. but i was just jealous that my dad got to go to oralndo and he wasn't excited. ok? sorry if this thread is a waste of your time. i was joking. how would you feel if someone got to go down to your favorite place and wasnt excited?

My mom is getting married and you know how many people are going to be at the ceremony? three. me, her, and him. five at the reception. Because we don't have the money for anything else.

My dad is going down in may for a tourniment, because we don't have the money for my mom and I to go down with him to see him rollerblade in a race he's been working on for years.

Don't talk to me about money, and "knowing what that feels like" because I know pretty damn well what it feels like.

You're a national league volleyball player, and you get to be IN wdw to play in your first tournament. Nothing in the parks will compare to how that will make you feel. Nothing.

now your making me cry because i now realize, i am fufilling my dream in a couple months without my mom seeing me. seeing how good i am or what ive accomplished. seeing that she helped me get through it all. seeing that if it wasnt for her encouragement and support, i'd never be where i am today. i have worked pretty damn hard to get to where i am and its just devastating. oh god. now my shirt is soaked in tears but do you know how hards it gonna be? having all the other girls' mom's there? cheering them on? i feel lucky that my dad is going down with me but i want my mom there too.

I understand wanting your mom there. Thats totally natural, but if you're any kind of player like I think you are, once you get out there on that court, everything in the world but that game is gonna go away, and you're gonna win. Its what great players do.

There are alot of families out there who can't afford the whole family to go to Florida, and they would feel lucky if one or two members of their family members were going to a national competition anything! Just do your best and try not to let your dad get to you. I'm sure that there will be other opportunities for you to go to Disney somewhere down the line.

Feel grateful that you're going down to Florida at all, I'll probably never get to go in my lifetime.

We've driven through Orlando and the outlying area two years, and my parents were constantly on each others nerves. They had no idea how to get around. My mother was telling my dad to swtich lanes, and he'd yell at her because there was a car where she wanted him to drive.
The clearer the instructions, the better.

Honestly, though, you should be upset, but not mad. It's just nostalgia. But at least you're going back. I'm never going back, unless my parents somehow find the money and the time. It's not easy for us to go much.
