Another dissatisfied Cingular (former AT&T) customer. Everytime Cingular attempts to fix a problem the blame is always laid on my "AT&T equipment."
The final straw came just before Christmas -- a Cingular technician entered a wrong code or command, which deactivated my cell phone. It took 4 more calls and talks with 2 managers to discover Cingular cannot reactivate AT&T-programmed phones -- they can just deactivate them. Thanks a lot! Since my DW's phone was part of the contract, they decided to deactivate her phone, too. Huh?
Even though they essentially canceled my service, they'd still charge me $175 to "cancel" my remaining contract.
So they agreed to replace our phones with a brand new Razr. Whoo-hoo -- until they arrived via Fed Ex yesterday and could not be activated. Another 5 phone calls to discover the phones were "defective." BOTH of them.
So now they are sending 2 more phones via Fed Ex. We suggested going to a store at our mall, but they said they can't do that. Stores have a separate inventory from Cingular customer support and they can't authorize a store to give a free phone. *SIGH*
