Ya know, I loved being able to go to touring plans to figure out which week would be better for me to go to Disney, but now you have to pay for that feature! I understand making a buck, but all I want to know from the site is which week will be better or if they are the same attendance wise. I do not need anything else off of the site. Same thing goes for tourguidemike.com.

So any guesses as to which week would be better to go in October? I am looking at:

10/14-18
10/21-25

Thanks!

I would say as long as you avoid any holidays, which would be Columbus Day early in the month and Halloween on the 31st you should have moderate crowds and nice cool weather! Are you going to do MNSSHP?

I understand your frustration. Although I did extensive planning and research ... I did not really find out about (ride by ride) touring plans until AFTER my first trip. I read some of them for my second trip. ... you know what ... we just winged it without ANY touring plan and did just fine.

But I agree with the other poster. As long as your week doesn't encompass a holiday, it will most like be just fine. :)

I found this post funny, sorry. What do you want them to charge for information nobody wants? Of course they charge for the information people are looking for! Do you think anyone would pay for any other kind of info? Anyhow back to the question. I think October is much more crowded than it used to be since so many people just take their kids out of school now and all the MNSSHP's.

A lot of schools have now started an October Break. Usually its the week of Columbus day. In FL many districts we have a long 4 day weekend Fri-Mon the weekend AFTER Columbus Day. So I would avoid those two weekends if I were you. Also if they have free dining it usually ends like Oct.2nd or 4th or something ...not sure how that effects crowds.

October ain't what it used to be.:sad2:

Not to be ugly, but this was also the only info we needed from UG and TGM, and we paid the $7.95 and $21.95 respectively to get it. I also used to get Best Days info from UG for free, but they've since discovered that is one of the most valuable parts of their web site. It takes a lot of time and effort to compile that data, and they understandably want something in return.

IMHO, $8 or $22 is a very small price to pay for something that can so greatly improve a vacation that costs thousands of dollars.

I know, I know, I'm just cheap! :goodvibes

I think either of those weeks would be fine. And I highly recommend TGM simply for the best days...well worth the price for that alone.

Hope this helps....

DH & I went the week between Columbus Day and Halloween and it was perfect, very little wait times on most rides. We were sure to attend MNSSHP on a weeknight (if your planning to attend), which allowed a walk-on for all rides at MK. Our only disappointment was the F&WF as we thought it was designed more for adults, but there were tons of families with strollers and kiddies running everywhere (not meaning to offend), and we went in the evening on a weeknight too. Hope you have a Magical vacation whichever week you choose!:thumbsup2

If you are looking for adult experiences at the F&W F try some of the ticketed events or seminars next time. Some of them are very nice.:thumbsup2

Me too! :goodvibes I just figured I better go ahead and subscribe, because no matter how many times I write it down, somehow I will either manage to lose, or start second guessing wondering if I wrote it down right, or if it has changed. Now I have the peace of mind to be able to go back and check anytime I feel the need.

Many UK schools have holidays 15th Oct for 7 to 14 days, depends on the county. October has become the most popular month for UK travelers to go to Florida for the first time this year 06.

not sure if this helps ???

We are coming 11th to 28th Oct.

We are going to MNSSHP actually that is the primary reason that we decided to go back this year. We are going to take it really easy during our 5 days there. We went to F&WF last year and it was mobbed! We are going to skip it this year.

I think that I have it down to the week before Halloween, but ask me again next month before I can book our DVC and I will have changed my mind....AGAIN!

I just broke down and subscribed to touringplans yesterday. In addition to the crowd ratings, there is a bunch of other great information available to you once you subscribe. I like all the various touring plans (that aren't available in the guidebook), and the printable planning sheets are awesome! It was well worth the $8 to me (I also paid for TGM- totally worth it, as well).

We are going 10/27 to 11/4- debating whether we will do MNSSHP or not. We went in 2005, and had a great time- but it was a Sunday night party in early October. Not crowded at all. Our choices for this year would be either Halloween, or the day before Halloween, or maybe the 29th (depending on what dates are offered). We are afraid those parties will all be really crowded.

We went last year and while it was an ok night, I think that we would enjoy it more this year. I am also on the fence about what date to choose. I know that Halloween night is not going to be the best option, but I am wondering about Monday vs Tuesday, if they even offer both dates. We have plans to dress as the guys from OCC/American Choppers if we do go. Although, I would love to find that they offer a party at MGM this year, like they rumors suggest might be in the works. I know about tourguide mike but what is the other site that is 8.00? Another site I can surf obsessively seems to be right up my alley.
