I'm kicking myself for not booking flights in May when we booked the rest of the vacation. My return flight is sold out (have to fly with jetblu now) and it's $300 more :(

So moral of the story - no SW flights don't go down in price. Book early!

That's too bad. I think the same applies to Jet Blue - book early - prices just keep rising.

What makes it worse is now that SouthWest owns AirTran flight options have been severely restricted. I am looking in November and AirTran isn't running flights. there site says they are all operated by SouthWest. So now we know the effects of the merger. I imagine it will only get more expensive and have fewer options

I got sale emails from Southwest and Jetblue today so you might want to recheck.
It appears there will be no more Airtran out of Buffalo. On one hand I am disappointed that there is less competition, on the other hand I really didn't like Airtran and avoided them when I could.
Take a look at United and Delta as well. If you are flying out of Buffalo they won't be non-stops, but it might be worth the trade off if they are way cheaper than the others.

Yeah those sales arent for my dates it appears. Not much cheaper than flying from Pearson. But they should come down. We have a 1 year old going with us so we may choose Pearson anyway to avoid the extra travel. And I cant stand layovers. Either too long or too rushed. But definitely cheaper.

I have heard a few people complain about Airtran but I have to say I have flown on them 4 or 5 times and loved it. The staff were great, upgraded my wife and i for free one time because she was pregnant. Entertained my son when he was with us. really can't say anything bad about them, but that is like everything. A couple of bad trips can taint your view of anything. Air Transat for me is always a bad experience. Cramped planes, changing flight times with no notice, or even better, changing airlines without telling. Showed up at the airport and there was no flight. They changed it to Canjet and didn't tell us. Or anyone else it seemed. Called their booking office from Orlando and they told me the flight was still a go on Transat.

I don't know your dates but did you check with Sunwing?

Yeah they don't fly on my dates, 16-26, I really would rather fly out of Toronto this time, but I usually love going from Buffalo. May still do it, but with a 1 year old I would rather not have to do that much travelling. But we will see for sure.

Have you thought about flying into Tampa from Buffalo?
We're going in August and paid $900 direct flights both ways for 4 on Southwest. Orlando was $1,300.
Rental car (SUV)was cheaper by $200 than Orlando too.

It's about 45 minutes extra drive than Orlando to WDW though.

I don't like to drive on vacation. Sounding a bit picky eh? hahaha The oddest thing is times as well. What I can find out of Toronto wants to leave at 9m and the jetblue flights from Buffalo want to come back at 9pm which means a couple more days off work or travelling with kids and getting to Disney around 1am.

I read somewhere that by the end of July rates will fall and hopefully everything works out. IF not I will just have to pay for Toronto or drive to Buffalo. At the end of the day, its the house of mouse for me.
