grrr...dentists

or, more specifically, overbooked dentists.

my dd's and I were supposed to see our dentist the last week in december, but he cnacelled our appointments at the last minute. called today to reschedule.

you would think I was trying too book breakfast at Cinderella's castle.

I had to whine and plead to get appointments for all 3 of us before the middle of April. ugh.

We had this same problem with our old dentist....she was more interested in traveling than her job! It would be months before you could get an appointment with her or her hygienist because she was too cheap to hire another one.

Just about the time I was making inquiries about a new dentist, she sold the practice and we love the guy that bought it. He has 2 hygienists and we never have a problem now.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I had my last polishing yesterday and I had talked to her about bleeching my teeth. She said why didn't I wait a few weeks and see how I liked the polishing and then decide. I told her if I waited I wouldn't be able to get in until July! She said to get the bleeching kit would only take a few minutes and she promised she would fit me in the next day after I called!

I know when my 2nd wisdom tooth started hurting I had to deal with it for a week and a half before she could see me and have it pulled. It wasn't sever pain though, I would hope if it was something that hurt they would fit me in.

this is somthing relatively new with our dentist.

it's a practice with 3 dentists and several hygienists. I've been going to them since before my older dd was born, and never used to have a problem getting an appointment. it isn't so much that the dentist is overbooked, it's the hygienists that are booked solid. they can usually squeeze you in if you have an emergency.
