GRR- how wet do you get on this ride?

Definitely wear flip flops and shorts, and a poncho, if you are worried about getting wet. OR carry a complete change of clothes for after the ride.

I did it in June so it was not uncomfortable at all. But even the seat is wet when you sit down.

I must be really lucky. I have been in this 100+ times and never gotten more than a few drops on me. When I go on I always store my stuff in the free lockers behind the DVC kiosk. I must say, I think wearing a poncho is cheating. It's a water ride. If you do not want your clothes wet, don't go on. That's just my opinion.

If you don't have a change of shoes, try to keep your feet up on the little ledge. If you look at the bottom of the raft, there are small circular "grates" (for lack of a better word). I believe they are for draining the water out of the raft, but they will also make perfect little geysers into the raft if it hits it right. So even if the rest of you doesn't get wet, you feet can get soaked if they are near those little geysers :lmao:

Luckily it's a pretty dry climate so you'll be dry after a little while of walking around in the sun.

This has not been our experience. DH was once soaked on Splash and was dripping All Day Long.

Unless I was wearing running/wicking clothing from my underwear on out, I would expect to be wet, at least in the most uncomfortable places, for hours.

I wear a poncho and love it! All the excitement of having water splash all over you and cool you down, with none of the long-term consequences of being soaked to the skin. (that said, my legs/pants have gotten pretty soaked, but having legs-only soaked isn't bad.

And yes, use the free and secure lockers behind the DVC kiosk!

I didnt mind the getting drenched part....but I was soaked from head to toe including my hair. I looked like a drowned rat!!! lol

I learned to cover my head and wear flipflops. On a sunny day you dry out pretty fast.

From what I gathered on our trip last April, the people who sit next to the step to get on the ride get the most wet (that's what happened for us anyway) because that's the easiest place for the water to get in. It really is luck of the draw though. I managed to end up going backwards down the big drop and didn't get wet, where as my Nan (who was sitting next to the loading step thingy) got soaked all down that side. If your really worried about getting wet, to save time going back to the hotel and getting changed I would bring a spare change of clothes (including socks) and wear a poncho on the ride :)

Went yesterday and was soaked. When I know it's a GRR day, I dress anticipating to be soaked. I wear short gauze mini dresses over a very thin stretchy tank top and men's boxers underneath and then cotton panties. I got totally drenched but was completely dried out within 20 minutes.

Sitting in the middle seats and putting your heels over the drain holes will keep the up spray from hitting you between the legs. Doesn't help if you get it from the outside, but it does help a little.

Strangely, we rode the Sea World version this circle oat rapids ride and got 10 times more wet than ever on Grizzly.
