Merilyn, did you have any trouble adding your grown kids' names to the contract?

I would not even consider this. Let's say little Bobby is grown and you put him on your contract. He marries the girl from h*&L and when they split up she now has a debatable claim to your dvc contract (depending on the state, perhaps a very strong claim to part of it.) This sort of thing happens every day and unless you have total control over your child (which would be sad if they were grown) then you are putting your assets up for claims by others -- spouses, debtors, whatever. Just something to keep in mind.

I think we have the problem with society today encapsulated in a nutshell here.

"how can I tell my children 'no" ?

How about "You're a grownup now, go earn the money and buy your own points. These are mine. I will give you points when I want to. If that causes you to have bad feelings towards me, then you obviously are only nice to me when I give you things"

It's no wonder I can't find employees with worth ethics and a sense of responsibility anymore. They've been raised to feel entitled to the lifestyle of a 40 y/o established person by the time they're 21.

I don't want to worry about what could happen later. I want my children to own also. I just have to hope that they never have a problem with their marriages that would lead to what has been said. It is a family thing and they have said when they can they will add more points. I plan to go until I am "old" and I want us all to enjoy them until 2042. I will only be 92 then!!!!

I qualify! I have two grown children and five grandkids! I love to share vacations with my family, but 6 adults and 5 kids at one time makes for chaos (been there, done that, ain't going back)! We will invite them as we wish, and they can choose whether or not they wish to vacation with us - one family at a time (and sometimes none).

They are getting into "it's my turn" a little, and I guess I understand that, and I want to be fair. I don't want this to get too complicated though - it is a vacation!
And they are our points! Sandie

When my sons were in college they asked if they could go to OKW for a few days with their friends after their Spring finals. We gladly gave them the points (Sun-Fri), all were very appreciative. Now it's almost time for our daughter to do the same thing, we enjoy sharing the magic.

We purchased 250 points at OKW in 2/98. Our motivation was to share the points with our children and grandchildren. This has worked real well for us. The downside is that we have had to buy another 200 points to satisfy their appetites for DW. Our attitude is that we would rather share DW with them while we can. We have had some excellent family trips in the last five years.
