Groupon transport deal

Never used them but looks a good deal, they are saying they do a round trip from OIA to Idrive hotels and back for $105, buying this deal brings that down to $55 ($27.50 each way)
Read the terms but initially looks a good deal.

I was just looking at the email I got from Groupon for this, wondering if it was a good price.

But then considering we spend circa $40 return (including tips) on a taxi from DTD to Premium Outlets, this is pretty unbeatable for $50.

I would personally avoid Groupon at the moment as they recently took a slating on Watchdog. They may have become too big and popular too soon. Just MHO.

Thanks David never saw that. Only problem I have heard of is companies not keeping up with demand created by the offers, ie a Canvas print offer recently, the company took too many orders so created a long backlog of work.
Not heard of any offers not being honoured.
What did watchdog say? is there a problem with them or the companies they are dealing with?

Thanks David, looks to me its like I suggested oversubscribed offers, as I put in another thread recently with Groupon I worry about getting bookings http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=41858069&postcount=9

I think with any company that is providing a service to 1000's of people there will be problems, it's how they deal with it. So far I have not seen anything to stop me using them, I know people that have used them multiple times without problem so for now I don't see anything advise against using them but will keep an eye open if anything changes.

Its same with Restaurants.com they get complaints, mainly because people don't read the T&C's, we used a voucher in Feb no problem but knew before hand how to use it and they would add 18% tip, others complain when its added. I have read numerous complaints saying its a scam etc but I and many others find them OK.

Just used several Groupons and Restaurant.com vouchers in Orlando (still here and planning to use more) with no problems. In fact many of the owners were delighted we were using the Groupon ones as they hoped we would be back. Of course we make sure to follow the conditions carefully. I also use Groupon a lot back home - the only problem I had was very swiftly dealt with by Groupon.
