Hello, This will (possibly) be our first time of property and I am having a hard time narrowing down places to stay. We will be a group of 10 and would love to stay on property....but the grand villas are a little out of our price range! We need to have a kitchen due to someone in our party having severe food allergies. We have talked with her about how good Disney is catering to the allergies, but she refuses to come without a kitchen to cook her own meals. Fine.

So.... we obviously want to be as close as possible. We probably will end up having a car, because it seems like we will not be able to do without one, but I would like some ability to be able to go our separate ways. Are there any places with a shuttle (even if not the best or most timely)? If we are super close I am not opposed to Ubering whenever I have to if my part of the family wants to stay later or whatever.

Bonnet Creek looks amazing, but I worry about not being able to book until we are close to the trip. We are going the last week of June 2018 and would like to book within the next month or so. Do all the timeshares work this way?

Thank you in advance for any direction you can give me!

My offsite recommendation is Lake Buena Vista Resort. It's probably 10 minutes to most of the parks. They do have a shuttle as well. They offer 2 and 3 bedroom condo/timeshares reasonably cheap that have full kitchens and washer/dryer. I would look into there!

There are lots of offsite options that will fit that bill. Any one of the top tier Timeshare resorts will fit the bill, and most have locations very close to on property. Sheraton (Vistana Resort or Villages), Marriott (Sabal, Imperial and Royal Palms), Hilton (Tuscany Village, Parc Soleil) are all in that class and would be considered a tier above Wyndham IMO.

Not sure why you can't book Bonnet Creek now? Availability gets better in most timeshare systems as more owners pay their fees for the year, but one year out is usually when things start opening up in most systems. How are you going about booking?

BTW - 100% understand your travelling companion. My son has a severe food allergy which is how we stumbled upon timeshares in the first place. Haven't looked back since. One little slip up in a restaurant would leave him sick for days - not something you want to risk after laying down thousands on a vacation. Disney is VERY good, but it is impractical to eat every meal there.

Your friend should understand that the kitchen equipment in a timeshare is washed to household (not institutional) standards. We always start our visit by running everything through the dishwasher and wiping down surfaces to be safe. Twenty minutes invested for a week or two of feeling comfortable.

Bonnet Creek can be booked 12 months out for owners who own there. 10 months out all other Wyndham Vacation Club owners. If you are looking for a discount, it will be more difficult if you are trying to book Wyndham Bonnet Creek so far out. A rule of thumb is $7/1000 points for Bonnet Creek.

Check out the points charts below on the dates and you calculate points and estimated cost. For example if you book during prime week in a 3 bedroom, it would take 308,000 points. Cost to book would be $2,156.

Weekends are most expensive. If you want to save money you can always book Sunday through Friday, which is 5 nights, which would take 180,000 points. Cost max I would pay would be $1,260. Big price difference.

Owners do ask more if the week falls during a holiday week - Easter, July 4th, Christmas, New Year.

You may consider booking something that's available now and then canceling that and rebooking at your preferred hotel/timeshare if it becomes available later. Just be certain to book a cancelable/refundable option now. (That's probably a best practice unless you are 100% certain the trip will happen.)

Our go to is Silver Lake Resort. It is right off property by Animal Kingdom. They have three bedroom units that sleep 10-12, and their staff is wonderful!

We just returned from an off site stay at Windsor Hills. We loved it... multiple bedrooms/bathrooms, full kitchen, washer/dryer and a pool! Price can't be beat either. Driving to AK was at most 10 minutes; 15 minutes to the other parks.

To be honest I don't recall if I contacted the home owner directly or went through homeaway.com. I did make payments thru homeaway. The home owner was always quick to respond to any requests. Search for Stunning Executive Villa.
