Group is leaving the resort choice up to me

Let's say you're with a group (all adults who have never been to WDW) who you keep asking where they'd prefer to stay for your trip and they just keep saying "I don't care, as long as it's in Disney!!" Which resort would you book to really blow them away?

I'm thinking CBR (I stayed there and loved it!), Port Orleans, AKL savannah view or WL. I'm saying all moderates because personally I really care about luxury amenities and spend quite some time at the resort and pool, enough to care.

Depends on what everyone can afford, but I think I'd vote for WL because it's just such a great resort with a great location and lots to offer --boat to MK, great restaurants in different categories, good bus transportation, natural beauty, lots of Disney details, incredible lobby.

Not CBR. Construction and I didn't like the multiple bus stops. I would do POFQ unless you were moving up to a deluxe.

The buses weren't terrible for me last time, with the occasional Uber if the lines were awful. I was thinking of a deluxe, especially if I'm going with first timers Poly might be easier on them with the monorail right there? Price isn't too much of an issue tbh (anything pricier than Poly I would say no though)

I suggest you consider the budget of most frugal, the palate of the pickiest eater and the preferences of the person most likely to complain ( wants peace and quiet/likes lots of pools/wants lounges and nightlife) and then choose which resort matches those needs...or just stay at POR.

Yes! My sister and I did a princess room a few years back and absolutely loved it (just us, no kids).

I have to agree with WL. AKL is awesome and so much to do but you need a resort day to get the full experience imho. Depending on when you go do look at the construction at CBR & CSR. We did enjoy CSR a lot.

“Price isn’t too much of an issue.” Honestly, I’d price out all the options (obviously using this year’s pricing and know that the price will inevitably go up for next year) and then show those numbers to everyone to find out what their budgets really are. I think a lot of people (not saying you personally) don’t realize ALL the costs involved and that many times tickets cost as much as the hotel. They might be surprised by cost and realize that a moderate is more in line with what they’re thinking than a deluxe. Or you could look into renting DVC, which would let you do a deluxe resort at a lower cost than direct through Disney.

I know you said price isn’t an issue, but do the first timers realize the deluxes are priced almost 2x as high as real world “deluxe” hotels?

If it works for all budgets, I always vote Epcot area for adult only trips.

If you are willing to consider AKL, than I would not recommend splurging for the Savannah view. There are animal viewing areas readily available regardless of room choice (from my experience).

If one is looking to impress, than the walk into that lobby is sure to do the trick!

However, the only complaint about AKL is that it is a bit of distance from everything else (expect AK); therefore that might be a factor to consider.

If cost truly doesn't matter, and you want the best Disney experience for them, then I would go with a deluxe resort for sure.

Actual resort would depend on where you think you'll spend the most time. An all adult group, I would think, would spend lots of evenings in Epcot so I would suggest an Epcot resort. If your plan is to rent DVC points then I much prefer Beach Club over Boardwalk.

Our favorite deluxe\DVC resorts are as follows: Poly,WL, BC.

Unless they get a studio or 2 bedroom lock off at Old Key West. Studios there have 2 queen beds and all of the villas are some of the largest on property. But I’m guessing the op and crew would probably prefer an Epcot resort, so it’s probably a moot point, just want to make sure the correct info is out there.

I would be happy with any of the resorts you mentioned except for CBR which we did not like at all, especially if you are all adults and plan on using the pool, as it is the only resort we have stayed at that we had issues getting two pool chairs at consistently over our stay so I cannot imagine trying to get a whole group there.

How many are sharing a room. That would be my first concern.
For moderates I love Por and pofq. Beautiful resorts, boat to Disney Springs. My adult daughter & I stayed in a Royal Room and loved it! Oak Manor. I prefer the mansion section and being along the river. And Por resorts are close to the parks, kinda in the middle of the resort area.
Without knowing how many in your room I’m hesitant to recommend a deluxe after seeing you would book DVC. I prefer the regular rooms that have 2 queens over the DVC studios that have only 1 real bed and combo of pull outs. Who gets real bed & who’s stuck on pullouts? That would be a problem for me.
I think OKW is only DVC with 2 real beds in Studio.

But if they want the ultimate WDW experience I’d have to say either GF or Poly. Nothing like seeing the castle and watching the fireworks from your resort. Both are wonderful resorts.

Well if you stay moderate I believe French Quarter is the best moderate out there. Small compact everything a 5 minute walk and a quick boat ride to Disney Springs. For convenience to Magic Kingdom go Western Lodge it cost less than the monorail resorts and the boat ride to Magic Kingdom is fun. Now if you like animals and what I consider to be the best 2 restaurants on property (Boma And Jiko) then you have the Animal Lodge.
