Group DIning, Magical Gatherings or Grand Gatherings?

Is anyone very familiar with how these work? I thought I had it all down pat but it is not going so well for me.

I am still waiting on the GG number. I was told I have to have it to book any "experiences". I was also told that the number would come by email but so far no number.

Where did you get your number, how did you get it, and how long did it take?

Also did you find the group dining any help at all? I called at the 180 day mark and all I keep hearing is that they are booked for everything I want!

Please those of you who know how this GROUP system works for ADR's and "experiences", will you please educate me!

at exactly 7am on my 180 day mark and got all the meals I wanted for our group of 16 - my daughter was on another line with the regular number working on the meals in which our group was divided into smaller sub groups trying different restaurants separately on other nights - booked Le Cellier, Chef MIckey's breakfast and CRT breakfast for all 16 and booked 50''s prime time and OHanas for 10 of us and dd booked all the rest for groups of 5 for boma, coral reef twice, 1900 park faire, grand floridian cafe and cape may.

I just used the number on our reservation from AAA - we don't have a separate number, travel agent booked the pirate grand gathering experience for us. I just told the group number my name and the aaa number and all was fine for booking our meals.

I guess I have just had a run of bad luck with getting ADR's. It has been impossible and I called as they opened on our day 180 and I planned the things I really wanted for days after that thinking that it would increase my chances of getting them!

I am going to have to call again in the morning and try to figure out what this number is they want. I have reservation numbers but they say that is not the number they need to schedule any of the "experiences" like the Safari Dinner or the Illuminations Dinner and Dessert.

As normal for me lately....... ........I am confused!
