Arranging my first trip to US/IOA, travelling with girlfriend and her son. Planning on three nights at PBH. I bought annual passes for everybody. We're flying from Atlanta.

I'm wondering about ground transportation between the airport and hotel and back again. Does Universal Studios or PBH provide a decent shuttle service (regular, frequent pick-up times) or should I just plan on getting a taxi from the airport?

there is no free transportation offered by USO from any onsite hotel to/from the airport. You would need to book a town car or use a paid shuttle service.

That would be a huge perk of USF started a shuttle to/from the airport and from the dropoff of the parking garage to the TTC at Disney.

Here's a recent example.
Wife and Kid are driving up tonight (06/25/03) to visit Disney for a few days staying at All Star Sports. They're going with a friend and her mom, who is driving. The mom doesn't wake up early, she's a beauty queen who likes to sleep in.
On the 2nd day, they (wife and 2 kids) wanted to visit IOA while the beauty queen sleeps in, but guess what?
They're going in the beauty queen's car because it has more room, who won't wake up, and my wife can't drive it because of the insurance. So they probably won't make it to IOA, but will visit another Disney park instead.

Round trip shuttles from Disney to USF for 3 people cost $65, plus tip. We looked at all the sites. That's too much.
It averages out to $13 a person one way. They're not going to IOA because there's no way to get there by 8am without spending $65 plus tip. The Lynx busses would take too long because it's 3. That's too much money, so they're gonna be stuck at Disney. IOA will lose out on my wife and kid spending their shopping money, plus the tickets to get in for the two kids. All because they can't get there from Disney, without spending $65 plus tip.

If the suits of USF read this, then think about starting up your own shuttle service from the main drop off of USF to the TTC of Disney, and from USF to the Airport, and make it affordable. I heard there is a shuttle from the HRH to Disney, but I'm not sure, and I heard it was $13 a person each way. That's too much money.

This topic keeps coming up over and over. USF has an opportunity to make a new perk.

Women. My wife leaves all the reservation sheets at home, then calls me asking for the limo numbers, saying the beauty queen would pay for their ride over to IOA. Plus I had to give them directions to the park... ah, yes, get off the turnpike at I-192 and go west. Yes, it takes a while before you see anything. Yes, you are going the right direction.
So I look up the same services I did last night, give her the numbers. She calls Mears from the All Sports lobby hot line phone but they want $40 one way.
She calls and books Tiffany for $60 round trip.
Happy Limo had it for $55, but by the time I looked it up and called her back, she had already booked Tiffany. Thanks anyway for the Happy info. The lesson here is that Mears will charge more because they're "in" with Disney. The other lesson is that weird things always happen on trips, no matter how much you plan.

So it looks like they're gonna make it over to IOA after all, that is, if they can wake up.

By the way - Mears runs the Disney shuttle bus service(to and from the parks and Disney resorts!) I never knew that!
