Ground floor rooms. . .

In all our trips we have never stayed in a ground floor room. . . I just emailed my travel agent to have her put in my requests and this was one of them. I figured I'd give it a shot this time around since we're going to be at ASMo and probably a hike away from the food court, save a bit of energy/time getting back to the room at nite LOL!

Anyway, are ground floor rooms more prone to critters? I had a 'vision' last night as I was falling asleep that the little gecko things could easily scurry into the room when the door is open, or flying things maybe even? :confused3 or am I just paranoid and overthinking? Dh says I am always overthinking :lmao:

I have always (minus one trip) stayed on a ground floor . I have never had a "critter" experience except once when staying off site. I came back to my room to find it covered in frogs. Yup.. they climbed straight up the door and just stuck there. My room was right under the light for the walkway/stairs, and I guess it was attracting bugs for the frogs to eat. Wish I had a picture.. there were more than 10 on the door. They lookes so cute, and were not hurting anything..so I opened the door, went inside, and in the morning, they were gone.:rotfl:

I have never had any creepy crawlies or other visitors in my room on Disney property.

there are a llot of lizards at the all stars but you should be okay as long as you keep the door closed they really shouldnt get in we stayed in a gornd floor at the polynesian wich has very lush foliage and never had a critter come in so you should be fine

if it makes you feel any better, the little lizards are completely harmless. I live in Mississippi and we've got them everywhere. ( we try not to get them in the house though) They're more afraid of you than you are of them so if you're going in your room, chances are they'll have run away before that.

We did have one get in the kitchen and it was something trying to catch him! They're quick !! But don't worry, they're just a part of the scenery!! :goodvibes

May I pose a question as to the upper levels?? We have only stayed on ground floor (no problems with any critters!), but I'm wondering if I need to request it because we have 5 kids...we are getting 2 connecting room (garaunteed because we have 5 kids to only 2 adults) so the kids will all be in the same room from time to time. Will the tromping around that kids do bother people underneath us??

That was taken at the end of May outside our room at OKW. I guess it was bound to happen. We were feeding the ducks and birds and this guy showed up wanting to crash the party! (More pics at the TR link below)

Hi neighbor!! What part of the Magnolia State? We're near Hattiesburg.

Depends on what you mean by tromping. Constantly running from one side of the room to the other would bother probably about 99.9% of people underneath. Jumping off the bed and onto the floor over and over again would probably bother about 99.9% of people underneath. Rough housing and body slamming on the floor would be a bother. If the kids want to play, let them go outside and work off the steam. Let your kids know they have to be respectful of the people downstairs. If you can, demonstrate to them how different things sound from upstairs to downstairs. And when in doubt, err on the side of caution.

We always request a ground floor room - it can save a lot of walking and waiting for the elevator. Never had any unwelcome visitors in our room. We have had rabbits outside the room, no snakes.
