We have been to SSR last October, but used GG for our groceries. My question is this... we are renting a car this time and would like to find a grocery store fairly close to SSR. Does anyone have names of grocery stores and how to get there from Orlando International? We want to go directly to the grocery store, prior to checking in at the resort. We have some time to waste, since our flight arrives in Orlando around 1:30pm. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Goodings in the Crossroads plaza is the closest grocery store. The plaza is at the end of Hotel Plaza Blvd and only a few minutes from SSR.

There is a Winn Dixie on Vineland Apopka road, and that's definitely close to DTD. As you exit RT. 4, from the airport, you make a right and you are on Vineland Apopka road. The left turn off for DTD is almost immediate, but if you stay straight, about 2-3 miles (guessing) Winn Dixie is on the right.

There's a Publix on the other side of Rt. 4, if you go past the Queen of the Universe Shrine, which will be on the right, the Publix is in the shopping center on the left at the end of that road. You will pass the Dixie Stampede which will also be on the left before you get to the Publix.

The Winn Dixie is easier to get to, no real traffic that I've dealt with in the afternoon...get their card, no charge, to take advantage of their specials.

PS. Closest yet is Goodings, at the intersection that you make a left to DTD, make a right into the shopping center and Goodings is there. We've never been in it, however we understand it's the most expensive of the bunch.

If you take the south exit from the Airport (417) there is a Super Target(grocery store included) at the Orange Blossom Trail exit and also a Publix at the John Young Parkway exit. Both are easy entrance/exits off of 417.

Win Dixie and Publix are literally another 5 minutes from Goodings and offer a WAY better selection. Goodings is OK, but is very expensive and the choices just aren't there.

From SSR, take a right out of the driveway. When you get to the corner, take a right onto that road. When you get to the next intersection, take a left. You'll pass through the gates and see Crossroads Mall right across the street. Take a left out of the gate and Winn-Dixcie is about 5 minutes down on the right. It's a really nice, clean store.

I've used the Winn-Dixie a few times before. I even signed up for their savings card so everytime I go, I can get the good deals! :thumbsup2 I once had a CM tell me to avoid Gooding's because of the prices.
